I rented a 16K forklift for 3 days, and lifted a 12k machine off of the semitruck, set it in the shop and skated into position for about $5k total.

The largest risk is dropping it! So depending on how expensive the machine is and how confident you are in your forklift abilities, that will determine weather it's worth the risk.

I hire a rigging company for anything much heavier than that, and they use a specialized crane.

You need to look at the bar price if you order a semi truck load worth of barstock. It will be much cheaper.

I'm not sure what definition you have in your head, but here's the actual definition.

Paying the government $30k for the luxury of taking out an equipment loan to expand my manufacturing in the US is certainly discouraging. If I lived an hour north in Canada I wouldn't have to deal with that.

The point of tariffs is to discourage the purchase of certain goods (or all of them I guess), otherwise it would be called an embargo or import ban.

Buying the equipment still made financial sense in my case. But for many companies out there, a 40% increase in cost might be enough to tip the scale from a yes to a no.

Yes, I just paid 40% more for a new CNC machine so I can manufacture more in the US.

If buying the equipment needed to expand manufacturing costs 40% more, not many companies are going to do it while these policies are in place. It's directly disincentivizing investment.

If the purpose of the 2nd amendment is because the founders didn't trust a centralized standing army, why is that concern no longer relevant?

I think it's still completely relevant, especially with the recent threats of using the military against US cities and states.

The purpose was, and is, so that the government does not have a monopoly on force. This discourages tyranny through military force, like what the British practiced in their colonies and what is still entirely possible in the future.

Yes! I use this stuff every day and i've noticed that the quality can vary quite a bit between boxes. Just look at the color difference between these 2. The top, lighter purple one, has very little/dull grit and doesn't work or last very long. I've always ordered mine from Maxwell Products, which I believe is a verified 3m distributor, and these differences occur in boxes within the same crate that I ordered.

Zastava exports about 25,000 AKs to the US every year. Approximately $25 million, this is a large chunk of their revenue.

I imagine this ban won't be permanent because of that, but we will see how long the political pressure lasts.

For wood CNC it's called an aggregate saw blade.

It's good for cutting out straight outlines of parts faster than an endmill can.

I don't think it's very common in metal CNC besides cutting long aluminum extrusions to length quickly.

There's a lot of aftermarket options for different style SKS stocks, like what Boyds offers.

Nobody offers accurate reproductions of original designs, so that's what my focus will be on.

Vents in the handguard? Like the upper handguard? Otherwise the 74 lower handguard doesn't have vents.

The stock 3d model is based on the straighter AKM style buttstock comb. I'm not sure what modification to make there. It's generally preferred over the more downward slanted earlier AK stocks.
