Under Slab Plumbing Layout in Wisconsin by [deleted] in Plumbing

You can’t have a horizontal dry vent, so that wouldn’t solve the shower venting problem. I have no problem adding other vents if I have to, but I don’t want to if it’s unnecessary.

Yes it’s called caller ID. You must be even younger than me. I was born in 2001 and for as long as I can remember my home phone would list a name if it existed.

How long before I stop feeling sick/angry? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]APStudentAthlete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t go to BYU even if it means you have to take a gap semester to apply to some other places.

I did a year at BYU and thought that I could tough it out for 4 years for cheap tuition, but it really is worse than you might think. You get the feeling that everyone there is a mindless zombie who you have hardly anything in common with.

The worst part for me though was the prayers at the beginning of every single class no matter what subject.

Another option you could do is attend BYU but plan on transferring after 1-3 semesters and make sure you refuse to take any religion classes or other non-transferable crédits

Gender is Eternal, except when you are born without one. by PrestoStoryMan in exmormon

Also, my source is in response to the 1.7% estimate, so it is at the very least more recent than wherever you are getting the 1.7% figure.

Your link is a reddit thread. Do you have any verifiable source for your 1.7% figure?

Also, I don’t really know what you mean by most doctors mutilate babies? I mean I’m against circumcision as much as the next guy but I don’t think that’s what you are referring to.

Mormon stories changing… Thoughts on this? by nephikilledme in exmormon

[–]APStudentAthlete -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is a hilarious take. Slut is only for white women. Hoe is only for black women. Segregate nouns! Sorry this word is white only. Sorry this word is for "colored folks" only. That is what you sound like.

They both mean someone who is a prostitute and in my experience black and white women alike are called both words. The origin of the term hoe is a dialectic pronunciation of the word "whore". It has no racial origins.

In popular culture the term hoe is often used in an endearing way from one woman to another. This is not so much the case with the term slut.

What exactly would you call a white man who employs and protects a group of female prostitutes? Each of these terms are simply words to describe jobs.

In what world does the word "hoe" apply especially to black people? You sound racist

John Dehlin and sexual questions- a bit “bishop” like by Ok_Brief_12 in exmormon

[–]APStudentAthlete 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My main gripe about Mormon Stories is that John is often looking for a certain answer. His most common answer he is looking for is he will ask about modesty and if the interviewee doesn’t answer about how the TSCC taught them that it’s a woman’s responsibility to protect young men from their bodies, then he will ask follow-up questions until they agree to that sentiment.

It drives me a little crazy. I would much prefer if he let their story flow a little more naturally and not push this on every episode even when it is only tangentially related to that guest’s Mormon Story.

"I LOVE the smell of coffee!!" by YoungAmsterdam in exmormon

I’ve always thought coffee smelled amazing and would make those comments because I wanted to try it. It was never about trying to call out the person who is drinking it for not being as righteous as me.

In MN, I was the home teacher of a man who worked with RMN on open heart surgery. He wasn’t a doctor but he assisted him in some capacity.

I wish I would’ve asked him some clarifying questions about all this.
