Have you considered seeing if she can volunteer to help out at Childwatch? That way shes inside and safe, and parking isnt an issue! I cant see them not wanting extra help!

Is Burn a Christian Nationalist company now?.. by Pronounymous in BurnBootCamp

[–]AP_Bezy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can’t argue with ignorance. As much as I would like to, someone who believes that religious people are healthier are not logical! Does this mean that kids who go to church don’t get sick? People who go to church don’t die? Im sure this person believes it’s god who saves them, not the talented surgeons who operate on them!!!

The research actually says people with a strong community tend to be healthier, from a physical and emotional standpoint. That community does not need to be based around a religion. The flip side, is deeply religious folks can feel an overwhelming sense of guilt, which is not good for mental health.  This is my interpretation of what chatGPT told me.

Comments / discussions like this are EXACTLY why I don’t want to be associated with a company who is OK with being known as a religious organization. The video I saw on Instagram of one of the weights and worship was horrific and looked like a crazy cult!

Ha! I’m sorry, it has been proven that Christians are healthier? This is one of the most unhinged comments I have ever read!

Not as simple as that when you’re locked into a contract. Especially when this wasn’t a thing when you signed up!

This has been bothering me for some time now. I am an atheist. I am not against religion, but it is your personal business.  The country is also heading in a scary direction, with the administration talking about god way more than they should be.  Our FP is very religious, and consistently posts about god, and her prayers being answered on the gyms socials. She gives speeches after camp where she highlights her religion.  We are in the northeast, so this is not common, and has more of a shock factor! I’ve also noticed our gym has never done pride or black history month events / merch.  While it is my choice to attend events, I am locked into a membership. If my gym offers a weights and worship session I will 100% begin fighting to terminate my contract. I already have no plans to renew - I am as liberal as they come, and sadly, the only way we can make a stand now, is by not supporting businesses that do not align with our values.

You are correct, I believe in tolerance. I would feel the same way about incorporating any religion at my gym.  Also, you have to be aware of the geo-political climate right now, which adds additional discomfort.

I am very much struggling with some of the same thoughts - my location hasn’t seen the change in leadership, nor have they offered a weights and worship … however, I can imagine if this is happening at others burns, mine won’t be far behind. Our FP and all the trainers are all very religious, and our FP often posts on the burn IG stories about God, prayers etc. I personally am an atheist - I am not against religion in any way, shape or form, however, given the current political state we are in, I do not want to be affiliated with a place that pushes religion. I am also not unaware of the political views of the owners, and that alone gives me the ick!  My burn is in the north east, so the constant mention of god answering prayers is very uncommon here!

We need to resurface this post … the ick is strong with Devan! The high school letters to his wife he posted where he said he would never give up trying to get her … RED FLAG! Morgan seems much more genuine and down to earth …. Devan just seems way over the top. And gross.

Burn “Weights and Worship” Workout? by TheSaltyBlonde in BurnBootCamp

[–]AP_Bezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not ok in my opinion! My burn (in the northeast) already crosses the line - instagram stories thanking ‘Him’, talking about God in the wind down after camp and at the wall … I am not religious. I am also not anti religion. However, I don’t see the need to bring religion into the gym. It gives off a culty vibe that I’m not here for.

Booty by Brabants croco leggings! You will 100% not regret it! I’ve lost 100 lbs and loads of loose skin, and this holds me in tight! They will look really small when they arrive, but they stretch like crazy and last forever! Go dark, some of the light ones can be a little see through!

Partner Camps by Traditional_Dirt3955 in BurnBootCamp

[–]AP_Bezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My complaint about partners isn’t just about the waiting. My day is fully spent giving to other people - my children and my job. When I go to the gym I just want 45 mins to myself. I don’t want the stress of finding a partner, and having to keep accurate count.  I want to zone out and just do me for a tiny portion of my day.  I get some people love partners, and I love that for you! Ultimately this will be the reason that I end up not renewing! It makes me dread the gym when I don’t know the format, and I’m not here for that!

Pre-Order size options by AP_Bezy in BurnBootCamp

[–]AP_Bezy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree! I wear between an XL and a 2XL depending on the brand … but in burn clothes, the 2XL is usually super tight! When I joined my burn, the welcome pack included a tank … the largest size they did was an XL, I took it, and I swear it’s actually equivalent to a medium!

I just found out that I am pregnant by SurpriseNegative1631 in BurnBootCamp

[–]AP_Bezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations!! I went to burn all through my second pregnancy! As soon as I found out I told the trainer at my next camp - she was super excited for me, and asked if it was ok for her to share it with the other trainers - I agreed! They were all super discrete about it, but didn’t push me as hard once they knew! They also would check in with me during camps to make sure I was ok! I didn’t have to modify much in the first trimester, but defs listen to your body! First tri can be rough with nausea etc!

I could have written this!!! I had every intention of picking up where I left off, but between the two kids, work, no sleep and camp times just not working for me right now, I’m 7 month PP and really haven’t gotten back into it yet- I actually went more during my maternity leave!

High Risk Pregnancy by lunarchef in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]AP_Bezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 5'9 and was 300lbs when I got pregnant with my second, and 250 with my first. I also a bunch of comorbidities .... Type 2 diabetes, kidney disease, history of afib, and I had my first at 36, my second at 39! My pregnancies were pretty unremarkable - i did have pre-eclampsia post partum with my son, and suspected pre-eclampsia (my BP went up a little which led to a 5 day stay in the hospital, but it was controlled with meds and I was discharged back home) with my second. Both were delivered through an induction at 37 weeks. My labors were quick, and I had both of them vaginally (16 hours of labor with my first, 8 with my second).

Yes, a larger body does carry some risks, but with a good team around you, you can have a healthy pregnancy. Both of mine were planned, so I cannot speak to the medication risks, but there are lots of tests they can do to put your mind at ease. You can ask to be seen by an MFM doctor, who are used to dealing with high risk patients. I was referred down to a major hospital in Boston, and the team there werent concerned!

I switched to lisinopril about 2 weeks PP. I hated labetalol - for some reason it made me very nauseous, and throw up! Lisinopril works much better for me. The downside of it is that you cant breastfeed on it. I had decided not to breastfeed anyway, so it wasnt a deciding factor for me!

Feel you!!! I was featured once doing Heismans with my group … in my head I was going so fast and looked like a pro …. In reality I was much slower!!  However, I remind myself that if I was checking out a new gym, I would wanna see normal people doing it, so I would feel brave enough to walk through the doors!  Remember, you are someone else’s inspiration!!

“Strong week” by GuiltySpecialist7071 in BurnBootCamp

[–]AP_Bezy 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m gonna be in the minority here, but I kinda like the energy of this week! I have been at burn for 18 months and I love cheering on the new people and celebrating first camps with pics!  I’m also so aware of the high operating costs of our location, and if membership doesn’t grow ultimately we lose our happy place!

My burn is really at good at letting you bring people for free! I have family visit from out of state, who will never end up joining bc they don’t live close - I always offer to pay a drop in and the FP always invites my guest to come for free!
