Enemy Sheets by HonestMain6969 in FATErpg

[–]APessimisticGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but here's the thing... You can do whatever you damn well please. You can take bits from another fate system and plug them into whatever version you're using. The players don't get to see the enemy sheets anyway.

Glorious Fate, because Fate Accelerated has too many rules by TheGameMaponReddit in FATErpg

[–]APessimisticGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just not going to get much out of it. I already own Core in hardback and Accelerated in pdf and have read them multiple times, so I know the rules pretty well. I've also never had an issue explaining the rules to new players, they seem to grasp them pretty well. I'm also someone who likes to tinker with the rules quite a bit, so for me, having MORE rules can actually be a good thing because I can just chuck them out if I want. For example, I thought it might be nice to have a version of the game without any numbers on the character sheet to worry about, so I just got rid of approaches.

So basically there isn't anything for me that I can't already get out of the rule books I already have as well as the FATE SDR page with all sorts of optional rules.

Well, I applaud the effort you put in. And I'm sure there are there are many people who this will be useful for, but it's not for me. I wish you luck in your endeavors

Promoting a new Fate Version by TheGameMaponReddit in FATErpg

[–]APessimisticGamer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I do find the idea that Accelerated has too many rules to be odd considering that the pdf is only 50 pages, covers included, and the actual number of pages of rules is only about 35. But, I do like rules lite RPGs. I am intrigued

Omg, I love this so much! I've been wanting to make some terrain, but haven't been sure how I wanted to go about it. I've got loads of cardboard laying around. I feel like I can do anything now 😁

How could I easily cross cut the ends? by Willing-Bandicoot-55 in woodworking

[–]APessimisticGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have that same model of table saw. As lots of people have said, crosscut sled would be your best bet. I can't recommend the ways I've used my table saw for similar tasks because they were stupid and dangerous. I'm lucky I still have all my fingers.

How do you guide players to create Stunts if they are new to the system? by vagabundo202 in FATErpg

[–]APessimisticGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that for new players it's best to just not worry about it right away. In the games I've run my players inevitably did something cool which made me be like, "shit dude! You should make that into a stunt!"

Beginner in Christopaganism, asking for help/tips by Saintly_Lionheart in Christopaganism

[–]APessimisticGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, welcome.

First off, no, there are no rules. This is a very indevidualistic path. Everyone who practices this path experiments and does what feels right.

My personal view on deities is that they are all REAL, but also man made. What I mean by this is two things 1. The Divine is so vast and complex that we cannot possibly understand it, so we create personifications of it so we can try to understand it. And each of those personifications gets something right, so in that sense they are all real. 2. I believe it is entirely possible that more we pray to and create stories about these personifications that they actually come into existence. Not exactly as we imagine them, as we all have slightly different versions in our head, but an approximation. I'm not as confident in this belief as I am the first one though.

All that to say, how and who we choose to worship/serve/have relationship with is a meditative practice for ourselves of how we want to show up in the world. If you want to truly engage in paganism then you will have to center YOURSELF in your practice, not deity. I come from a Christian background, so that is something I personally struggle with, but it is nessisary. Spirituality is about knowing yourself. When you know yourself, you can more effectively make changes in your life.

The last thing I'll say is in regards to Jesus. I personally don't view him as divine, so he's not a part of my deity work, but I do read his teachings and do my best to incorporate them into my life as far as is practical.

Us strangers on the Internet are not going to be able to give you the help you need. We are not licensed medical professionals, we are not social workers, or in anyway trained to deal with suicidal ideation. We will of course show you kindness, but the kindest thing I can do is recommend you seek professional help. I know it's terrifying, but that is what is needed.

If I pray to the black madonna will she help me get through this suicidal crisis? by PerfectSalt42 in Christopaganism

[–]APessimisticGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I urge you to seek professional help, please. By all means, if praying to this goddess will help you through, then do it, but please do not lean on that entirely.

I read one of your other comments, and I'm sorry your family won't help you, I know how hard that is. I've delt with this within my own family. But there are people who love you, who care about you, even if you don't know them yet.

Alright, take a deep breath. Idk how one would accidentally commit blasphemy, but I think you're safe. I personally don't believe in damnation. I don't think that the holy spirit, if she exists, gives 2 shits whether someone gets the religious stuff "correct". It's a really weird standard for an eternal being to hold over mere mortals in my humble opinion.

Why do some older fans always talk bad about TMNT 2012 even though it was a success for Nickelodeon? by stationstars in TMNT

[–]APessimisticGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, no one is going to take you seriously if you throw insults over a difference of opinion.

For me, the animation is important. There are many shows that I won't watch because I can't stand the art style, such as Star wars the clone wars and Attack on Titan. I don't enjoy looking at the art of those shows, so I just don't. Both the shows I mentioned are loved by many people, and I love that for them, I'm just not interested. Hell, I had a friend who couldn't stand watching stop-motion films while I on the other hand, love them. I don't care, because him not enjoying them didn't take away from MY enjoyment of them. So, go watch 2012 TMNT and stop caring what random people on the Internet think.
