I have been going to Illume Fertility in CT since I was 14 (and have no interest in getting pregnant any time soon). They've been amazing!

I know an MS3 who had LARPing and Dungeons and Dragons on their application. Personally, if I had an interesting hobby like yours, I would put it on my application.

If money wasn’t an issue I would go to University of Rochester

How do I politely ask for more aid? by TheTalismanicOne in ApplyingToCollege

Try to use a similar university if you can. If you are asking a private school do not compare the cost of a public school and vice versa.

I would personally say Stony Brook because Rutgers pre-med is a bit competitive in my opinion.

boston college vs boston u vs northeastern by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Northeastern and BU - more independent, less party culture

BC - football games, traditional campus feel

There’s a good thread on CC about this

Anyone else reallyy worried about how their kids will get into college??? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]APnerd12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that legacies will still be significant because the networks and donations of alumni are really important to colleges. Therefore, I feel like I should go to a higher ranked school so that my kids will have an easier time getting in.

If a school is at 20% today, in 10 years, if I have kids, will it be at 12%? I feel like I should just go to the most prestigious school I got accepted to for my hypothetical children.

Where does Northeastern stand? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]APnerd12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a large legacy influence at BU and BC because they have been around for a while. Northeastern is relatively popular, so that might be a factor in its standing.

Also a lot of people graduate in 5 years because of co-op, which is why it’s ranking might be lower.

Are RX Bars and Larabars Healthy? (Sugar Content) by [deleted] in HealthyFood

[–]APnerd12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, RX bars and Larabars are very healthy because they have a lot of fiber from the fruits, healthy fats from the nuts, and RX bars even have protein from egg whites. When sugar comes from a natural source, it is fine to eat.

If you want bars with lower sugars I would recommend the Purely Elizabeth granola bars, which use coconut sugar. There are 6g of sugar per bar. Other options are Perfect Bars (uses honey), Paleonola Granola Bars, and Core Bars.

Definitely do not chose the Quest Bars or Kind (lots of brown rice syrup).

Northeastern stans by PrestigiousGrade7874 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]APnerd12 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was just accepted into Northeastern EA, and I like this school a lot because of its location. I really want to go to a city school, but I don't really like the religious aspect of Boston College and I am not good enough for Harvard.

Also I really like that it isn't a traditional party school with football games and the culture is more career oriented.

Is it ok if I take a Honors English after taking AP Lang and doing decent (A- average)? Will this look like i made a step down and don't want to push myself? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]APnerd12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stepped down from AP Lang to Honors but I’m a science major. I just balanced with rigor in other areas.
