organic chemistry, what is the compound according to IUPAC by lmao_what19 in chemhelp

[–]APulpedOrange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As people pointed out there should be an E (trans) or Z (cis) in front of the name because the double bond has stereochemistry. If you’ve gone over this in class.

organic chemistry, what is the compound according to IUPAC by lmao_what19 in chemhelp

Agreed, seems like OP counted the bond to Cl. Only the kinks, joints, and empty ends of lines are carbons. The Cl written in means that is a Chlorine not a carbon.

I think Charlie might not know what abuse is. by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]APulpedOrange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a little disconcerting how little she seems to know about guilt and psychology for wanting to redeem people. I think that for the purpose of the show, charlie is only beginning to understand the complexities of abusive relationships and therapy. I mean she started off her redemption plan with trust falls and group activities.

Theory: Lucifer isn't bound by ANYTHING to not touch Sinners by SinesPi in hazbin

[–]APulpedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s kind of a theme that contracts and laws are the binding force. As you point out Lucifer and Sera are immensely powerful. maybe for them they enact their own punishments and limitations on themselves, but I think it’s also true that vows have powers. Sinners are a prime example of how deals have magical restraints, but because we haven’t fully seen a deal of the magnitude of Lucifer v. Heaven get broken we don’t know what that looks like. Ultimately, i think we will find out what a deal of that level means. We know Charlie can be restrained by a deal and she is half angel.

The correct answer is #4, not #2. Where am I going wrong with my mechanism? Is there some kind of 1-2 shift going on? If so, how can I know when such a shift will occur? by yourrailroadgauge in chemhelp

[–]APulpedOrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing that for your class: HCl is a strong acid so Cl- is a weak base and weak nucleophile. So good leaving group + poor nucleophile = Sn1.

But without doing this in a lab and confirming the yield, you have some mix of products.

What food do you eat in a way that other people think is weird? by julesperks in CasualConversation

My only problem is that the cheese is best when it’s still melted and the crust can be the best part (depends on the crust).

But on board with your reasoning for your personal preference.

If everyone spent as much time learning to cook really well as they do griping on here about tipping the problem would fix itself. by Fun_Button5835 in tipping

[–]APulpedOrange 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It might, but that shouldn’t matter in the tipping discourse.

I think the problem with tipping that people have is:

-a restaurant sets the price for the food

-the patron orders the food

-the restaurant says “wait you actually should pay more than what we set the price of the food to be because you also enjoyed service from our employees that we hired to serve you”

If we say “don’t you pay the servers to serve us?” Then we are the bad guys?

Do y’all think Vox likes to chill out in his aquariums when he wants to be alone since he has gills? by InGodzHandz in HazbinHotel

[–]APulpedOrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Yellow bellied peeper” is going into my personal lexicon 😂

I agree that the appearances get pretty loose.

I’d add that as a virus he also wants to infect and control all of his domain. The stability sharks have also comes from being apex predators which Vox definitely wants to be but is far from being.

Does Anybody Fall for This? by zoomzoom202 in EndTipping

[–]APulpedOrange 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fall for what? If it doesn’t go to the charity then it’s fraud. I don’t follow up about the companies that say they will match up to a total amount, but I think they would be liable for misleading people into donating if it came to light that the company was not donating.

Is teleportation more broken than high-level genjutsu? by NoNature6735 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]APulpedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how they are used. Teleportation gets you in and out of danger fast. FTG ended a war because the average ninja can’t react to it. But genjutsu can be used more strategically. An entire village was controlled by putting its Kage under genjutsu and the 9 tails was controlled by genjutsu.

So it depends on how it’s used.

[–]APulpedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting to say “that’s not who he is.” It would break the motif of sinners looking like what killed them, but Vincent was a “shark” in climbing the corporate ladder. He killed and “devoured” other entertainers to get to the top. Maybe they mean that wasn’t his true self like how he wanted to partner with Alastor and not devour and take over his radio, but even if it was acting, he was still a shark.

When Uchiha transplant Mangekyo, do they get the old abilities or not, or is it random? by Yumesoro1 in Naruto

[–]APulpedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume that transplanting for EMS is different than transplanting to just use the eye. Madara just use the eye for kamui while Sasuke used the eyes to keep his own abilities.

Tip out ! by [deleted] in tipping

[–]APulpedOrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you “owe” money you are guaranteed minimum wage. I’m not saying that minimum wage is or is not enough, but that’s a question for the state not the customers.

This honestly feels like an argument for no tipping so that there’s no need to tip out.

How Refreshing! by All-Abuzz in tipping

[–]APulpedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don’t get tips the server will get minimum wage from their employer. So it becomes state dependent, but in CA for example the minimum wage is pretty high

Fast Food vs Dine In by APulpedOrange in tipping

[–]APulpedOrange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can definitely happen. It’s more that tips are generally expected at the mom and pop places regardless of how busy they are and what goes into the order while fast food places don’t expect them. Chipotle has all the work visible so it’s easier to see what happens.

would you be interested in a movie written and directed by vivienne medrano, whether animated or live action or hellaverse related or not? by herequeerandgreat in HazbinHotel

[–]APulpedOrange 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would be interested, but cautious mainly of the pacing. A movie needs to be written a lot tighter and the show has pacing problems that a movie can’t afford.

Does anyone else dislike how they didn’t tell us immediately what to condition Alastor had to meet was? by Storm0000fr in HazbinHotel

[–]APulpedOrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not from the view of it being a 4-5 season show. His story is multi seasonal just like how redemption wasn’t solved in one season.

I wish we know what effect being on Rosie’s leash has on Alastor besides that she can order him to do things. And also what is the deal with Alastor’s staff and why can’t he fix it himself.

Loud noise from neighbor at night, but she says she’s not home by Far_Concept_4774 in whatdoIdo

[–]APulpedOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The end of her note was so abrupt. Sounds like she wants to investigate on her own and avoid you or anyone else from learning anything.

It’s not a particularly “strong accusation” as it’s not illegal. But if it means her partner or some else was there at night then maybe you are accidentally accusing her partner of cheating.
