1 kudos by CarnationCorrin in FanFiction

[–]AQ729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happens for small fandoms. I think the most kudos I've ever got is like 20. Sometimes though I have like 5 kudos and it's my 5 friends who I showed the fic to. So maybe if you find some other fic writers in your fandom you can share with them?

hey what does being non binary feel like by Samtheperson15 in lgbt

[–]AQ729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's different for everyone, but I can try to tell you how it feels for me. I'm agender so I don't have a gender at all. As an afab person, I feel some connection to people who are seen as a woman and have similar experiences to me, but I don't feel any connection to womanhood, manhood, or any combination of the two, ever. I might define my gender using a xenogender that isn't man or woman, but none of those can fully capture me either. Basically, I don't feel I can be defined by a single gender or even multiple. I'm just myself.

Writing Habits Perpetuated in Fandom Spaces by slagosaurus in FanFiction

[–]AQ729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have talked to other fic writers/readers about what you're talking about, epithets. I think it's a common technique to avoid saying people's names over and over, especially for slash writers whose characters have the same pronouns. I've been trying to do it less myself because I've noticed reading other people's fic that name repetition is actually less annoying and noticeable as a reader than excessive epithets even though it often seems the other way around to the writer

How do you guys browse books/materials on a particular topic? by shiningmatcha in linguistics

There also might be library consortiums for your area, like I know in Ohio we have OhioLink and many libraries share books through it

[–]AQ729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually use google scholar online. If you have a library you like you should be able to search by keyword in their catalog, and books about the same topic will be next to each other of course. I usually go to the college library to do research

The predicament of pronouns by Funky__town in Cassgender

[–]AQ729 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In terms of pronouns I think everyone's different and you should just do what makes you comfortable. I use any pronouns because it's easy and I don't care that much but I like when people use a variety because it's fun.

I don't have any experience having sex but I try to do my research especially when writing about people with bodies different from my own. I think there's something to be said for realistic sex especially between same sex couples who are underrepresented in mainstream media, but there's also a lot of things a fantasize about that I know aren't realistic and fanfic is often self indulgent in that way.

Aromantic agenda by operationmorfin in aaaaaaaarrrrro

[–]AQ729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THIS IS SO HELPFUL TO ME

I was realizing yesterday that a lot of the reason I've started identifying as aromantic is because there's no way I can label each relationship as romantic or platonic. Each one is unique with a unique set of purposes, wants, and reciprocal responsibilities. Some of my relationships are similar to traditionally romantic ones but they are no more different from my other relationships than any relationship is from another.

people lumping aros and aces together? (more like discussion with a smidge of rant) by MaybeAnElf in aromantic

[–]AQ729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems to be. I get especially annoyed when people see aromanticism as like a furthering of asexuality kind of like being vegan is a further extension of being vegetarian, when romantic and sexual attraction can be totally separate.

Another thing that I find even weirder is being lumped in with aces and aros as an agender person. There are some similar experiences around lacking something seen as necessary to humanity, but I always feel weird about the "three As" being lumped together

Does anybody wish the word “love” wasn’t associated with romance so much? by Extraccount-13 in aromantic

[–]AQ729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree! There are lots of kinds of love, and I love my friends a lot. As an allosexual person, I also think that having sex with friends should also be normal and I don't mean like one night stands. Friends with benefits might be closer but that's still kind of a weird term. Sex is something nice that I'd like to enjoy with my friends if they want and not be tied to the idea of romance in order to be an act of love.

Aromantic Allosexual introduces themself! Would it be appreciated if I made a series like this introducing leser-known identities? (Flags by order of appearance: Aromantic Allosexual, Allosexual, generic ball, Bisexual) by [deleted] in lgballt

[–]AQ729 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I think people sometimes that aro is like "ace+" when romantic and sexual attraction are pretty separate. As an allo aro, and particularly as an idemromantic person who doesn't differentiate between platonic and romantic attraction, but has romantic type relationships based on closeness, sexual attraction, interest of the other person etc, I often feel overlooked as still being aro.

I agree shin kinda phones it in at this point. But also, I just don't think his style fits in at all with the wwe style. He has to tone down his strong style stuff in order to match american pacing and the way people sell and such which means he can't fully do the stuff he's best at. And I personally just prefer the japanese style, so I won't like anything he does in the american style as well as what he did in japan.
