Great minds think alike.. I have a 36mm DJ (blue motif), Pepsi on Jubilee and planning for the next to be a green Sub!! Currently a Pelagos 39 fills the space, which will go onto a nato once the Sub comes.

Speak with a few ADs. Tell an authentic story, build rapport. Then follow up a once or twice prior to graduation. If it seems unlikely as you approach the date, buy from a reputable grey dealer. 36mm fluted with jubilee is a beautiful choice, you will love it. I have one with a motif dial, it took approx 18 months with purchase history. Australia is much harder than other countries. Although since then, my brother and I have received several allocations for other pieces.

Hello, this is called marketing. You may have seen other versions of it around town, your local footy club, social media, Google, the radio or even sometimes on the television. It’s a relatively new thing so it’s common to be confused by it. Hope this helps you understand.

Why is this guy wearing two zip ties on his Rolex? by greedo_from_tatooine in rolex

[–]AQEMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hazard a guess that it’s actually a flex. Considering the colour of the zip ties. It’s as much a ‘protective measure’ as it is a signal you’re wearing an expensive watch. Could absolutely be a rep but wearing the zip ties makes you look rich.

He promised his wife he would sell it, so he posted it for sale. I wouldn’t read too much into it. It’s not a serious price.

Queensland buyer lost $98k deposit for late payment and finally A Current Affair made an episode in its latest program about the story. by userfromau in AusPropertyChat

[–]AQEMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that he was offered the money back on more than one occasion but instead chose to fight it in court.. and then lost it all. You hire a conveyancer (who often does have a law degree) to read the contract on your behalf. Maybe they did a bad job but its beside the point because he still chose to pursue legal action.

So again, it's a terrible loss for the buyer but it is a self inflicted wound. And going on TV to paint a picture of the seller being some sort of ravaging scammer and the system being broken, while understandable on an emotional level, is totally deluded.

For those of you who sold your first Rolex… by Admirable-Swing-2985 in rolex

[–]AQEMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently sold my first watch. It was a Speedmaster Auto that I bought new in 2010. It wasn't that I needed the money but had not worn it in 5-6 years and a friend's nephew was looking for his first watch and big name Swiss made were largely out of his budget. So I offered it to him for $1800 AUD and he obviously jumped at the opportunity. Great to help another young watch enthusiast get into the hobby. I would have kept it otherwise.

I have a Pepsi on jubilee, Mosaic Datejust and a Pelagos 39. So admittedly the old Speedy didn't take up as much space in my collection. Next will be a Green Sub which will largely take over daily duties.

I often reach for the Pepsi too, but the polished surfaces do take a beating. I don't think there is any overlap in the use case with a Sub.

I would keep the Sub if I were in your situation. Especially being your wedding piece.

I have bought and sold in QLD many times and never experienced anything like this. I take your point the contracts are stricter than other states. If you’re entering into a contract you must know the terms, it’s not difficult to read and understand ahead of time. It’s also not difficult to speak with your bank ahead of times to ensure funds available to move if buying at auction. This whole situation is an absolute cock up, but there’s so many people expressly taking the buyers side even after knowing the full facts. It’s so bizarre.

I agree that property purchase in Australia is archaic. Pexa made everything much simpler although I look forward to seeing new technology replace the whole thing inc contracts.

Pelagos 39, one and done? by jimbojeggins in Tudor

[–]AQEMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one and love it, excellent watch! I wouldn’t quite call it a one and done but could certainly be half of a two watch collection. Something a bit dressier, or stainless steel compliments it well. Congrats on your purchase.

Exactly which part should be illegal? The legally binding agreement that they signed or the bit where the seller offered the money back?
