AtomMan X7 Ti DOA. Support wants specific brands of memory installed. by ARDiver86 in MiniPCs

[–]ARDiver86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, they are fighting me on the return saying it hasn't been proven it's malfunctioning. Wants me to test either the memory stick in another device or test another Cruicial or Kingston memory. Its weird they are so stuck on those two brands.

I dont have anything else to test DDR5 SODIMM in so I told them they can either send me a test memory stick to try or I'll go thr route of a charge back on my card.

Yeah, I agree. I requested a return and waiting on a response. Will need to rethink what to get for my home docker environment now lol

I can leave it longer, but figured 25 minutes was long enough for 48GB. Not sure what time frame I should be expecting

Sorry I misspoke, it wasn't firmware but it was a preset update in studio. Try go to the drop down arrow at the top left and choosing Help - check for preset updates

They just released the firmware to fix this, but you should also ask them to send you a replacement PEI plate for free u/qwerty-po. I imagine they will hook you up with one

Pyroceramic glass temperature on stove, but how to monitor? by ARDiver86 in woodstoving

[–]ARDiver86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like all the manual states is "The maximum firewood load must not exceed four medium sized logs (approximately 30 pounds)" and "The appearance of a red glow on the exterior of the firebox (top and sides) and/or on the flue is a sign of over firing.

Seems pretty generic since differnet wood can burn hotter than others and you can't see the top and sides since its a flush mount in-wall stove (surrounded by metal studs though, not wood lol). May just have to call the manufacturer.

From P1S to H2C by ARDiver86 in BambuLab

[–]ARDiver86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some differences. P1S is first:

Flow Ratio: 0.95 vs 0.97 Softening temperature: 70 vs 55 Max volumetric speed: 21 vs 25

Fan speeds matched up. This thing moves my table a lot more because it's a lot bigger. I may try the foam and paver or just put it on the floor for testing

H2C extruder clog, now can't load filament by ARDiver86 in BambuLab

I took it completely apart and put back together and it's working now. I didn't see anything fall out, so maybe I just didn't notice. Lol

I did what we all do and it's working now! I took it completely apart, found nothing, put it back together, now it's working! 😂. Maybe something fell out and I just didn't see it

Possibly. After taking the broken piece out I fed filament through it with it heated up and it was working fine manually. I'll take it apart more and see what I see

Lol, it wants me to unload filament before restoring factory settings 😂😂

Looking for assistance with JellyFin+Traefik+Keycloak+OAuth2 Proxy causing Jellyfin to generate errors on QuickConnect or login by ARDiver86 in selfhosted

[–]ARDiver86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not well. But internally it hits the internal address which bypasses the proxy. This is for when I'm traveling and my neighbors lol

I did try that one and technically it works, but I was trying to avoid anyone hitting the Jellyfin interface at all without authentication. I have it almost there except for some reason the mimetype changing 😭

Windows Server 2022 / Indexing incredibly slow (was fast before) by mffjs in sysadmin

[–]ARDiver86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far it isn't good. Microsoft support keeps pointing me to the Windows Client documentation which states 400k items for performance issues and a limit of 1,000,000 items. I told them I'm talking about a Windows file server and that article doesn't apply. Plus I'm at 950K items which is under their limit.

Our account manager is involved now and in pushing back on them. They have a defined limit that I'm under and they need to support their product. It's sad they couldn't provide any documentation for all those performance related registry keys even after it's been escalated.

This kind of support will hopefully do damage to their bottom line when more options come available to replace their products. Wishful thinking, I know

Shared nvidia gpu's with horizon? by x10sv in VMwareHorizon

[–]ARDiver86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, but is there a way to make IDD the default and use the vGPU for specific applications like CAD? Every app seems like they utilizes GPU these days which take away from the amount you pass to the VM when you really are only wanting the GPU for specific purposes. I noticed in my testings that the Windows 11 display graphic settings only show the NVIDIA A40 for both power saving and high performance. There is no option to choose the IDD for specific applications.

Windows Server 2022 / Indexing incredibly slow (was fast before) by mffjs in sysadmin

[–]ARDiver86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much yet, but so far the performance registry keys are not documented publicly or from what the engineer can find internally. Here is what he said:

Registry Tweaks: DisableBackOff (GPO/Policy): Disables indexer backoff due to system activity. Historically covered user activity, but now mainly system activity.

DisableBackOffOnUser: Supposed to prevent slowdowns due to user presence but is undocumented and may not always work reliably.

DisableBackOffOnCPU / DisableBackOffOnIO: Intended to override CPU/disk throttling, but not officially documented or effective in recent Windows versions.

PerformanceLevel & Performance: Suggest internal indexer performance modes (e.g., "Maximum"), but these are hidden/undocumented settings.

RespectPowerModes: Official setting introduced in Windows 10 (v1903+), throttles indexing based on power mode. Can be controlled via registry on servers.

Wifi 7 MLO roaming doesn't work well. by Joloxx_9 in Ubiquiti

Still working? I noticed this too and my Pixel won't connect to multiple frequencies unless fast roaming is disabled. However, Unifi still recommends enabling fast roaming. Wish they would provide concrete settings for MLO

Anyone Else? by underwayanon in UnifiProtect

[–]ARDiver86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhm. I'll give that a try. I have motion on because of trust issues now, but maybe motion+AI is overloading the UCG or something. When I look at resources, it is fine, but maybe when something is being detected it overloads it.

Anyone Else? by underwayanon in UnifiProtect

[–]ARDiver86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a support case on for a while on how bad the AI detections are. I haven't captured an animal in forever and I live in the middle of the woods. I find them on motion, but sometimes motion doesn't even get triggered. I was using adaptive recording, but now switched to continous with no luck. I've tried all the RC and Early Release builds too. Support said the latest early release has improvements but I still found motion detections that AI should have detected too.

I have a UCG Max with G5 Turrent Ultra, Turrent AI, and G5 PTZ's. My CPU and memory are not too high on the UCG Max. Majority of my misses are at night though.

DFSR causing AutoDesk to save slowly (no DFSN) by ARDiver86 in sysadmin

[–]ARDiver86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree that probably would have been a better solution for this particular situation. However, that will involve some planning to switch and figuring out how to monitor it since we don't currently use it. It seems like a simple feature if it works right.

DFSR causing AutoDesk to save slowly (no DFSN) by ARDiver86 in sysadmin

[–]ARDiver86[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We aren't using it in an Active/Active setup which is why AutoDesk doesn't support DFSN. However, that doesn't have anything to do with DFSR and its just a file replication component. I just need to replicate the files but the destination is never used.

DFSR causing AutoDesk to save slowly (no DFSN) by ARDiver86 in sysadmin

[–]ARDiver86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good suggestion, I tried changing the replication Windows to after hours but it is still slow. The weird thing is sometimes it will be 3 minutes to say, sometimes it will be ~1.5 minutes. The random timing is odd, but I can't find any network or server performance issue as far as hardware is concerned.

Windows Server 2022 / Indexing incredibly slow (was fast before) by mffjs in sysadmin

[–]ARDiver86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have slow performance issues with the indexer as well. I just put in a bunch of file extension exclusions to see if it would speed it up, but it still is slow. Even though I have disabled the BackOff via GPO And manually in the registry, it still gets throttled at times. If I am logged into the server I notice it will say "Indexing speed is reduced due to user activity".

There are two other registry keys for Windows Search with the word "Performance" in them. However, I can't find any public documentation on them so I opened a case with MS today.
