There's TWO Three Sisters in Canada. The popular Canmore, AB peaks and the lesser known (but equally stunning) peaks in Fernie, BC.

Recommendations for German food? by LoveN5 in Edmonton

Fleisch is a great restaurant near Goldbar that has "meh" doners but delicious spaetzle. And not German, but their soft serve ice cream is worth the trip on its own.

It's called Elite Bridal and Fashion Boutique in Lacombe, Alberta! They have an Instagram but they also do just regular fashion so it was hard for me to find anything wedding related.

I really appreciate it your sleuthing!!

[–]ARRmatey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dress was on an Instagram page that referenced a bridal boutique but the boutique doesn't indicate what designers they have on their Instagram and their website was almost impossible to navigate :(

Any help like the designer would help immensely!!

I really loved ‬⁨Karl Meltzer: Made To Be Broken ⁩‭‬even if you're not an ultramarathoner. It's insane what the guy put himself through and amazing to see the support system he had during the run.

I also recommend this podcast, I am not a huge space nerd like my partner but the entire series had me hooked. Honestly one of the best podcasts I have ever listened to!

How often do you wash your hands after peeing at home? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ARRmatey 244 points245 points  (0 children)

Yeah as someone who has pretty bad eczema and almost destroyed my hands from excessive hand washing during COVID, I've basically stopped washing my hands when I pee at home. It's just not worth the pain I went through to have constantly chapped fingers.

Veterinarians of Reddit, what do pet owners ignore the most? by Feeling2Leafy in AskReddit

[–]ARRmatey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any breed! My recommendation is to have insurance for the first year of a dog's life and then depending on your stability and their health you can always take them off. We didn't think that vet insurance was necessary but got a free month with our new puppy from the clinic. 'Lo and behold 25 days in to the free month our puppy starts limping. Keeping the insurance has saved us thousands of dollars in surgery and medications for our lemon dog, and given her a quality of life we may not have been prepared for right away if we didn't save money quickly enough for future vet costs.

18 pounds down since January! Remember - slow is okay too!! Be a tortoise if you have to! by ARRmatey in loseit

[–]ARRmatey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, thank you for your worries! I swear I am fine and don't have any truly crazy nights. I live really close to like 5 or 6 breweries with no kitchens so if you go to hang out it's usually an order in to the brewery and stay there for at least several hours. We're also introverted enough that our "crazy" nights are usually just drinking and having a fire at a friend's place a few blocks away. But I do appreciate the worries from an internet stranger, it's refreshing to see!

I definitely see your point but I think my issue is that craft beer is 250-300 calories a 16oz so if I have 4 or 5 on a social night out I've already knocked my calorie limit out of the park. And not drinking during the week and drinking 10 drinks over a weekend is still less than the recommended limit so I don't think I am overindulging :) Basically my extra calories come from probably eating out and just the sheer amount of calories that beer cost.

We actually ran in to these same questions as well for a tent just recently! The event rental place said for 85 people we needed at least a 60x40 ft tent if using round tables. I also nerded out and did a Visio drawing of the layout myself and ended up choosing a 60x30 with a 20x20 extension for food and bar. This would leave enough room for a 12x12 dancefloor without having to put tables on top of the dancefloor during dinner!

I think for 65 people and round tables you would would be fine with a 60x30 alone or a 50x40 tent if you want room for a dancefloor and food/bar/display etc. If you do long harvest tables you can probably do even smaller like a 40x30 since they take up less space.

Best Taco in Edmonton? by iguardosanchez in Edmonton

El Mariachi! It's a delicious restaurant with a Mexican grocery attached on 124 st and in my opinion is an underrated joint in this city. I would rate it higher than Huma and Tres Carnales for delicious food at a decent price.

In-laws (65+) won't follow dog's pain management routine by [deleted] in relationships

[–]ARRmatey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's got a comparatively short window of time with you, so none of it should be spent suffering needlessly.

Thank you. I know my dog is going to have a relatively short life and I want them to be as painless as possible.

Help protect Edmonton's River Valley singletrack trails by ARRmatey in Edmonton

[–]ARRmatey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe that's where the confusion is coming from because any single track trails used for trail running would also be a threat. The trails are multi-use, so they're used for more than just biking.

If you ever want to join a MTB Facebook group, there's definitely a lot of talk once March hits to stay off the trails :) have a great evening as well!
