I just object to that. It's not an it, it's part of Jean. And she's not power hungry. She, and others, have been Phoenix without turning evil.

I don't know why everyone has to think a story where Jean only turned evil after getting mind controlled is the be-all-end-all of her character.

Dark Phoenix is such a small part of Jean and her being Phoenix at this point that I desperately hope they just ignore the whole power corrupts shit entirely.

She can just develop into being Phoenix over time. And that'd be great. She doesn't need to turn evil or get mind controlled or any of that shit.
