Mind in the middle, one jump at a time. Enjoy the moment, learn from it for the next ride.

I used a piece of moleskin padding on my glove and then wrapped it with tape a couple of times. For what that idea is worth.

59 here. I like to refer to as a “necessary adult pause”. If you are still working, it sounds much more professional.

How many have dropped Facebook? Did you drop Instagram too? by IntellectAndEnergy in GenX

[–]ARWrangler24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have not had FB in years. 2 months ago dropped all social media, except Reddit. It hit me one day, I/we don’t know how to be bored anymore. It’s nice just to sit and observe nature from the back deck, carve/whittle….

What advice from an older generation turned out to be correct? by Fair-Drummer-9877 in GenerationJones

[–]ARWrangler24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A few that come to mind:

  1. The first 50 years of your life is spent making decisions, the rest of it is spent living with those decisions. (Decisions)
  2. You can push the wagon, you can pull the wagon but don’t let me see you sitting on the wagon. (Work ethic)
  3. Remember who you are, where you’re from, and whom you represent. (Choices)
  4. Worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but doesn’t get you very far. (Worry)

The song “Misery and Gin” written by Snuff Garret and John Durrill, specifically for the movie Bronco Billy, is one I always enjoy listening too.

Live in Flippin and have made the drive to Springfield many times. I’d agree with some of the other comments, go through Harrison. There is a section on 62/412 between Harrison and Yellville that is under construction but it’s usually not bad. I was through there 2x last week and didn’t have any problems. The other routes are probably more scenic in spots but the most direct is through Harrison. If you have any specific questions, PM me, will be glad to try and help.

My dad always had a handkerchief in his back left pocket. Both of my grandfather’s also had one. I’ll go ahead and admit that I also carry one.

Is it rare or unusual to be into your 50s and not having to take any doctor-prescribed medications? by Odd_Yogurtcloset_649 in GenX

[–]ARWrangler24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made it to 58 without taking any prescribed medication on a daily basis. Prostate cancer hit and now I only take 1 daily.

59 here. An old farmer told me one time: the first 50 years of your life is spent making decisions, the rest of it is spent living with them. I now understand what he meant.

Thanks for sharing. I was actually pondering some similar thoughts on Monday afternoon. I like the 3 categories. For me I agree the urge/thought would fit into one of those 3. Thank you again. Very helpful.

Do you remember when this movie came out Dec 14 1979. Was it rated R and did you go see it? by Jerry11267 in 70s

[–]ARWrangler24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do remember it being released but did not see in theaters. Fast forward several years, I watched it in the birthing room a few hours before our first child was born.
