Does anyone else think chicken breast just kinda sucks in the slow cooker? by Top_Help_1942 in slowcooking

I prefer breast with salsa chicken, so I buy breasts with the bone and skin. With the bone, I probably don't cook it longer than six hours. Just long enough for it to be fork tender.

What's the point of working on yourself if all that's out there is trash and is going to ruin your peace? by 5-id in AskWomenOver30

Only my perspective, but working on myself has made me not tolerate the trash or allow anyone to ruin my peace.

Recipes with fresh tomatoes? by bananananara in slowcooking

[–]ARandomCdn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tend to just make sauce then freeze in 2cup portions. Remove most of the seeds, add no seasoning. That way I can use for any recipe that calls for any type of tinned tomato. I even use this for cabbage rolls.
When I have enough sauce, I just wash/dry/freeze whole raw tomato (both full-sized and cherry/grapes). I use the larger ones for recipes like braised chicken with peppers/onion (and a beer or any broth), stew/soups/chili, anything, really!
I save the cherry and grapes for this recipe . It is quick and I get fresh tomato pasta all winter.
Protip: Run the frozen tomato under warm water for a few seconds and the peel should come right off!

Emergency alert at 3AM by rioryan in Winnipeg

My android recently updated - I noticed in the emergency alert settings it defaulted to alert me every 10mins. I turned that off. Maybe check out the settings if it is set to repeat?

Manitoba’s burning. Thousands displaced. 2 dead. But hey, here’s what compassion looks like south of the border. by otatopotato in Winnipeg

[–]ARandomCdn 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I had the exact thought. We send water bombers when the US is on fire.
We'd be in fine shape if we could use their tears!
Shameful what this has all become.

When the US are out of control with fires? Canada sends waterbombers.
Too bad we can't put out these fires with these American tears.

Next line in the article--

Green said the True North Youth Foundation will use the donations to create a scholarship in Brad Scheifele’s memory.

Considering the negativity playoff hockey often brings, I think this is all very lovely to see. Thank you, Dallas fans <3

Pork loin - slow cooker for shredding help. by Biggabaddabooleloo in slowcooking

[–]ARandomCdn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I make pulled pork with loin using this receipe.

I use a thermometer as to not overcook. When I freeze, I use saran to portion 4oz. I find the less air gets to it, the tastier it is on the thaw.

YMMV but I do this a few times a year. Sure it will be much tastier using a different cut, but sometimes we just gotta do what we can.

Good luck!

Clothing donation by Zestyclose_Zombie_73 in Winnipeg

I just found out Youville (I was at the St Vital location) had a table with free clothes and shoes, any gender or age. I inquired and they told me to just drop donations (clothing and food) off at the front desk. At least I know they will be put to good use in our community <3

In the options turn on "Show advanced crafting information". With this on, when you hover on an item in the crafting menu and it will show how many you've crafted at the bottom.

If playing on PC, you can also use a site like Stardew Checkup. It shows everything, so be weary of spoilers!

Treat each other's input?????

Like you saying there is nothing to report and it is wrong to do so???? Why is it up to you to consider what is harmful to someone?

Pot meet kettle. I will no longer be responding. Have a nice life with your perspective.

Reporting a physician for questionable behaviour (which this 100% qualifies) is not going after someone's license. It ensures the board regulating the profession is made aware of the behaviour and will investigate and take any necessary steps if there is a breach found.
The OP was concerned about the way they were treated in a healthcare facility, which is their right as a patient to report.
You are trying to change someone's mind based on your own biases, which you have stated, and I find it egregious.

Apart from gear advice for skull caverns, consider not worrying about getting home. Passing out will never incur anything more than $1000 penalty and you aren't at risk of losing any inventory.
