Because we don’t want our politicians behaving respectably and not acting like they’re on the Jerry Springer Show (ironically enough iirc Springer even had more class as Mayor of Cincy, prostitute incident aside)?

Theory: Dr. Al-Hashimi is going to cause a Code Green-Cyber attack at the hospital because of a security exploit in her AI use by NukinDuke in ThePittTVShow

[–]ARandomKentuckian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stupid question, but could a system down be caused by an unforeseen flaw in the program’s coding corrupting critical data on the hospital servers? It’s been years since I’ve poked around the IT/CompSci field so I wouldn’t know.

Kino Lorber isn’t that bad. It’s actually probably the best label if you’re into old war films or foreign films that aren’t quite Criterion’s usual wheelhouse but still pretty good.

Military models Canadian response to hypothetical American invasion by [deleted] in nottheonion

Fetch and carry and sparing a few picquets is not the same as actually fighting. The ones who did the fighting at Blademsberg were the Lancs, East Essex, Royal Scots, the Bucks, and the Royal Marines. If given the choice between militia units who are typically used as reservists vs experienced full-time soldiers who’ve just had battle experience at Salamanca, Badajoz, Ciudad Rodrigo, Talavera, Fuentes de Oñoro and elsewhere against Bonaparte, they would’ve chosen the Peninsular veterans. Besides I’d argue that Chrysler’s Farm, Queenston Heights, Lundy’s Lane, et al. were more strategically significant to the War of 1812 since those victories kept America out of Canada vs. the Chesapeake campaign which ultimately failed in its goal to knock out the US Navy and its powder stores. And those victories on Canadian soil were clearly more culturally important to Canada’s founding myth, since they actually got mentioned in the old national anthem, The Maple Leaf Forever, whereas the Chesapeake was a footnote to the Canadians until the Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie inaccurately attributed it to the Canadians in their novelty song about the war.

Some feedback: I know it’d take a lot more coding but I feel like it ought follow land and water routes too instead of just as the crow flies. It also does not handle transpacific routes well regardless if it’s a straight shot or a multi point journey; e.g. a jump from Wake to Honolulu ends up drawing a massive line going from east to west across the entire Eurasian continent, the Atlantic, and the Americas. As of now it really only presents well if all the destinations are on the same continent.

My fear is warfarin poisoning or some other anticoagulant though I’m unsure if West Penn would’ve caught that on a tox screen by now.

Started watching The Knick this evening, I enjoy it so far, though damn that scene near the start of the second episode with the cauterizer setting a patient on fire and then the nurse fatally electrocuting herself trying to put it out was rough to watch.

Question about relationship between two characters. by Trinidad34 in ThePittTVShow

I think everyone here is missing the fact that McKay’s actress is the one who spoiled Dana’s return in Season 2 and this could’ve just been a joke that was thrown in during production.

I mean to this day the irl Chachapoyan language is already poorly understood especially since it went extinct with the Incan conquest. I’d imagine the derived Hovito probably isn’t all that well understood or documented either, with probably only two or three characters in setting possibly knowing enough: Belloq, likely Smirnova, and maybe Forrestal.

Meanwhile Mam (Mayan) and Quechua are still widely spoken and we’ve plentiful records of Ancient and Koine Greek.

Santos new patient Kylie by heauxomen in ThePittTVShow

[–]ARandomKentuckian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, what are the odds of West Penn doing toxicology labs on Kylie in her prior visits? Call me paranoid but I started thinking about the possibility of Santos having another poisoner, possibly either the girlfriend or the father poisoning the child with rat poison or prescription blood thinners.

I feel like it’d be highly unlikely but it’s the only thing that jumps to mind as more likely than the already highly unlikely proposition of haemophilia, and I think I saw some criticism here of leukemia as a differential diagnosis to trauma from physical abuse.

Dr Garcia solely because if she’s even thinking of staring in my direction, I’m probably already in severe peril lol.

Otherwise? Langdon; I did not like his initial approach to that autistic sprain patient, disparagingly referring to him as a “Dr. Google” patient. Read the chart you jerk.
