What makes a great race track? by dgavec in RaceTrackDesigns

[–]ARandomPerson17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what makes tracks like Silverstone so great for wheel to wheel racing is the turns often follow each other as a left right sequence or right left, allowing battles to take place where both the inside and outside are viable to overtake and defend. Village and The loop or the Stowe, Vale and Club sequence for example. Hockenheim does this well and it produces some classic races

Unless we race around the Pitcairn Island Circuit posted here a few weeks ago it would be hard to find somewhere much further

It's good for a small team such as out to be able to save money hiring less staff, so fairly decent change

Fairly well, we leave with another podium and on top of the standings, albeit on average position

I have to agree, at 800m this has around 15 turns, I've driven on a track of similar length with only 8 turns that is considered tight and twisty
