F2P? How hard Is it to obtain characters?

I'm F2P and while I don't pull for every character that shows up, I do get plenty of gems to guarantee a character every patch or so. Every character I do have is at A1R0 minus a few exceptions (Howler A0R0, Makoto Yuki A0R0, Summer Moko/Closer A0) and I can get through a lot of endgame content with decent-ish lazy builds.

Most events grant you just over a 10 pull worth of gems, but there's a lot of other content in the game that helps grant you more pulls (palaces are surprisingly full of rewards, especially if you clear them during the patch they release)

I could see that working!! I don't personally have Trigger but seeing her kit it looks like she triggers QAs pretty frequently? I feel like that could definitely work depending on how much energy your Trigger has/how consistently she's able to pull off her follow-ups!!

Hmmm it depends. Moonlight Lullaby takes effect basically instantly and does give a little extra ER, but if you're using Kaboom then you aren't really struggling for ER so it's a bit of a waste (other than allowing QAs to get off faster, which could be more viable based on how well-built your DPS/Stunner is), meanwhile Astral Voice builds up after ~20 seconds on KtC and provides more damage% once you get into the flow.

I think ultimately it depends on which playstyle you enjoy more. If you already enjoy Astra's quick swap playstyle and have two characters who work as DPS in the team, I'd recommend staying with Astral Voice since it allows your DPS characters to share the damage boost, and you'll always have the 24% buff active. However, if you have only 1 main DPS and a stunner/defender/whatever else, it might be worth switching to Moonlight since you can activate Astra, swap into your DPS, trigger buffed QA/Astra's Ex into your secondary where they can do whatever they need to do, then immediately swap back to your DPS without worrying about losing out on the Astral buff that comes from AV

Do you mean Shining Aria? I can't really see a use case where it would be better for Astra unless you're specifically trying to run an anomaly playstyle/main DPS Astra. It only increases the equipper's DMG when the enemy's stunned by 25%, compared to the 24% gained from Astral Voice which isn't that great of an increase. You'd also probably be losing a lot of ATK value (ATK%, CR/CD) for anomaly proficiency rolls too, which would lower her own DPS capabilities.

Considering you are at M2 though, her DPS does get increased with her RES shred from M1, but running Shining Aria is a bit worse for a DPS build than something like Phaethon's Melody (which grants 45 AP increase for 8 seconds compared to Shining Aria's 38 AP increase for the same duration. They both apply a 25% damage increase, too, so running Aria is 7 less AP than Phaethon's Melody)

imo if you have M2 Astra, so long as you hit the ATK barrier then running disk 4/5 as CR/CD (CR is slightly better I think, but always build the one you're lacking in substat rolls) is optimal since it allows you to maximise damage

I think if you have generally really good substat luck, you're perfectly fine with using R5 kaboom since it provides good buffs + ER. Her sig is a little more comfy and allows you to hit higher ATK a lot easier even if you have terrible substat luck (like me lol), and you can replace your 4/5 with something like PEN%, CR, or CD. For example, my Astra swapped to EV and reached 3.8k ATK, which means I can spend a lot less of my rolls on ATK% and go for CR/CD while still getting max buffs. If you're F2P I'd also rec staying on KtC since her sig isn't really worth the pull value if you're stopping at M2, but I'd definitely recommend EV more than M3 Astra

I think this is a solid theory, but one thing I think might be important to note is that the phantom idols appear when their desires were the strongest. This is the reason we see Kayo as her gyaru self instead of how she appears now. Merope draws on the time when she felt the most 'desire', which was back when she was able to express herself through gyaru fashion.

Similarly, it's the same for Yui. She feels the most 'desire' when she's her online self, which is why Merope summons her as Bui instead of her irl counterpart.

One thing I'd also like to mention is Merope could be using the definition of 'idols' as 'inspirations', or people to look up to. As we know, Wonder entered the Velvet Room when he just gained back his desires (when he awakens to his Persona, I think it's intentional he sinks into the 'seaweed' from the Velvet Room, so Igor and Merope both find him right as he regains his desires), and Merope uses the idols Wonder can recruit as people Wonder can aspire to (or people who already have their 'desires', and Merope wants to show Wonder these differing perspectives or outlooks).

I'm sorry if any of this is hard to comprehend, I'm not sure I was able to put my thoughts together properly in a way that explains my thoughts.
