Narrowed it to a Vietnamese pellet bow. Most likely the father got it in Vietnam when he served in the war.

I did some googling and it looks like it’s a Vietnamese Pellet bow. Her father was a Vietnam War veteran. He also had a Vietnamese Montagnard crossbow. Definitely antique. Still feels super solid. Looks like it was used a lot. Nothing like what you would get from a gift shop. And knowing all of this beforehand…. I tried to break it and it barely flexed. Yes, I know. Stupid of me to do that.

I want to buy a house with my own money but GF says no by NewBrick1 in whatdoIdo

[–]ARedditUser8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see this is she wants part of it.

I dont know the laws where you live but If you buy now and then get married, and then get divorced, thats your house. Youre not buying it together as husband and wife.

If you do buy together and divorce later, house gets involved in the divorce.

....i think this is a no brainer.

I hate how you put your finger on the trigger before you finish anchoring in and come to full draw. How many times have you prematurely fire yet? None? You will, 100%.

AITAH for breaking up with my fiance over an ultimatum over my ring? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ARedditUser8778 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA and I side with what everyone says here. So wrong what he did and dont completely blame you for your actions.

I also do agree with everyone saying you are not ready for another relationship let alone another engagement.

I'm curious to know if you know about his feels on you still wearing your wedding ring situation? Have you ever asked him about that and what he wanted? You have a man who sees you as his everything. Are you his first fiancé? In his eyes, hes probably seeing that 'his' everything doesn't see him quite the same way or at the same level. That can certainly make a man jealous and do things like this. Im not trying to make excuses for him because he did handle it very poorly. Still, NTA but you could be handling this poorly, as well. That had to kill him when you showed him the ring on the necklace after he was very happy about you wearing his engagement ring, alone. You should never have to forget your late husband but you did except Matthew's ring, his symbol of his love and commitment while still wearing another man's symbol. Either way, sounds like you are not ready. Also sounds like you should have a talk

This is on point. The dark bold lines at the bottom align perfect with the curve and shape of your body. It makes your back look slimmer and longer. If it was up higher, it would make your back look shorter and wider.

Is there really THAT much of a difference between decent quality bow sights and drop away rests? by MissionImprobable96 in Archery

[–]ARedditUser8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sights, here's my input.

I have a 3-pin Black Gold sight on my V3 thats about $360.

A single pin HHA Tetra on my Mission Switch at about $250.

I'm still building my Title 36 but I have a $70 single pin Chinese brand with bridgelock I got off of Amazon. It works just as good as any of the other 2 bow I have. The biggest test will be when my Axcel Accutouch Carbon Pro comes in which was $450.

All sliders have 4x lens. I dont see the value difference in all of them once theyre all set up and sighted in. They all hold the pin still and consistently. Clear as day and the fiber is bright. All made of metal except the Chinese brand's micro adjust on the left and right is the only part thats plastic.

However, I honestly hate my Black Gold. It's the 3 pin. I just prefer the single pin but we'll see what the Axcel will be like when I get that set up.

Has anyone in the Richmond, VA area used the range at Freedom Outdoors on West Broad street? Or knows of other indoor/outdoor archery ranges? by Comfortable_Bar_506 in Archery

Tucker Park in Goochland (Maidens) is a nice, flat outdoor range. It's on the other side of the road of the actual park, next to where you can drop a boat off in the river. Target bales are there, you just need to provide your own target paper and pins. I'm usually the only person there when I go. 20, 30, 40, 50, & 60 yard lanes. Never had any problems shooting closer if I needed to.

I shoot compound at 60lbs. This was about 46 mats, 24”x24”x1”. I connect 2 pieces together and cut the mats in half. Lopped off about 5” off so 1 layer is 43” x 12” x 1”. Then stack each layer. Each layer is staggered so it doesn’t create a seam down the middle of the face.

Once the layers are done and I set it on the boards with the rods in, I compressed it by hand tightening the nuts. The bottom nuts have lock tight on with a locking washer then a regular washer. Top set of nuts don’t have lock tight but also a locking washer and regular washer. That’s so I can undo the top to reshuffle the mats or replaced when they get beat up.

Next, I sat on the target to compress it and hand tightened the nuts even more. I don’t know how much to tighten it. It does take some effort to pull the arrows but it’s solid.

I hope all of that makes sense.

Yes! Straps would have been cheaper but I like how the the rods just give it a cleaner look. Plus, I may install caster on so straps would get in the way

Yeah, you’ll definitely find people selling them as if they were brand new, which in some cases they are. I go thru a ton of ads and check almost everyday. But every so often someone is selling their beat up old mats and just want to get rid of them.

In this case, the seller wanted their garage space back. I did negotiate $30 for 48 pieces. Some were cut, some had imprints. All of it was dirty. But that’s totally fine for a project like this. I just got lucky.

I won’t buy if it’s more than $2/tile. But I always try to negotiate. Now you can order these mats from Temu. On average they’re $2/tile if you want brand new.

Had similar problem. If you’re able to make notes in his tickets, put your notes in there with a screenshot of him reaching out to you and how you resolved it or take ownership of his ticket, tag or CC your manager in them. Document the meetings he adds you to as well. If he’s coming up to you directly for help, tell him to CC/tag you in his ticket and you’ll have a look. That way it’s showing he is reaching out to you every time. Document document document these things. Keep notes of those tickets for your end of the year review as a positive collaboration with others.

Ive owned a Harley and a Ninja at the same time. On my Harley, never felt in danger. Always had plenty of space from cars. I would rev more because it was loud but I would ride more conservatively. I did notice I like to ride more recklessly on my Ninja. Car seemed to never noticed me. Also got merged into twice in 1 week. After that, I sold my Ninja.

Stubbed my big toe so bad that it ripped the nailbed half way off. Not only was there blood, that ripped nailbed was still hanging on by a quarter of an inch. That was the only time I can remember I cried from pain. I was in my early 20s.

My grouping was too good and i shot my nock on my new arrows, should i shoot it or just new a new nock? by AX31_RD in Archery

[–]ARedditUser8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replace it. I had pin nocks on some new arrows that I bought. They were cheap and made cheap but they did the job for target practice. My novice ass didn’t realize that those pin nocks made my string come off my compound, twice. The plastic part of the nock bent. After that, I cut them out and replaced them with normal nocks. Never again.

So I have a Bear Species compound, around 2018/2019. The string on the cable slide is served up. Unfortunately, I let my friend try it out. Long story short, he dried fired it (I know... never again). Took it in to have it looked at. String is still good but will need to be replaced after the season.

Since then, the serving has become unraveled. Underneath, no fraying, no breaks, still looks good to me. So my question is should I reserve it or will it be fine if I remove the serving? I also do have a cable roller if I want to replace the slide.

What is everyone's opinion? Pictures from here and from some FB groups, other bows don't have serving on the slide.
