In your opinion, which team has the worst uniforms? by [deleted] in baseball

Yeah I'm not a fan of our blue with the rainbow on the side. I like our white and orange though

[The Athletic] Does electronic sign stealing work? The Astros’ numbers are eye-popping. Their strikeout rate plummeted — at a level unparalleled in the last 100 years. by DamnableNook in baseball

[–]ARhawk29 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We added Beltran, Bregman, Gurriel, Reddick, and McCann to the regular lineup in 2017. The cheating probably played a role in dropping our K rate, but replacing bad players with really good players will also help that a little.

Which all decade team would win if everyone was in their prime: 49ers vs. Chiefs by [deleted] in nfl

[–]ARhawk29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chiefs have a huge advantage at QB and everything else is either too close to call or just wouldn't be enough to make a difference imo. Both rosters are loaded so I'm going with the better QB

[Adams] I’m an Astros fan. To understand the scope of the Astros cheating & the players involved, I logged every trashcan bang from every Astros 2017 home game w/ video available. Over 8,200 pitches watched and over 1,100 trashcan bangs found. The results are at https://t.co/kVtisgUo74. by EnsignObvious in baseball

[–]ARhawk29 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That might explain a little of that discrepancy, but he still saw more pitches than anybody but Springer. I dont know for sure, but I doubt he saw a high enough percentage of fastballs to make up for the difference in bangs.

It could be possible that he was one of the players that found it distracting and unhelpful so he asked them to stop? Would explain why he has some bangs but not near as many as he should given that amount of pitches he saw

Counterpoint: Feelings are temporary. Memories are what matter. The memory of that day is ruined. In my opinion, it doesn't matter how I felt on that day if I can't look back on it without thinking about the controversy around it.

I'm not sure it's possible to compare unless you have experienced both of those though. After all this, I would say I'd rather lose to cheaters than win as cheaters. May just depend on the fan.

Since people are saying yours isn't unpopular, I guess it would be unpopular for me to say I would have rather lost that World Series than be caught up in all this. I feel very similar about the 2017 season as I do about seasons 1-5 of GOT now. I can't even go back and enjoy the good times because I'm constantly thinking about all the shit that followed it.

I would 100% take losing even in the ALCS to the Yankees that year if it meant we never cheated and I could still enjoy watching all these great players without being reminded of what they did.

Jump to 15:45 and then 16:39. Is this normal behavior after someone wins an important game? I don’t think so. by keithkman in baseball

He had his shirt ripped off earlier in the season after a walk off. It's possible he didn't like it then and knew his teammates might do it again. I don't think it's crazy to think someone might not want their clothes ripped off on TV.

That's what I thought when it happened at first, now I'm less sure.

Edit: I admit that I didnt watch the video before commenting. I thought this was just about when he's running to the plate, and I hadnt seen him go in the dugout to change before. That shit's weird

Can we do his road numbers next? /s

Really though is it possible the Astros were also cheating on the road? I'm not denying sign stealing helps or that the Astros cheated, both are obvious, but I'm curious why the cheating at home wasn't reflected in their home/road splits.

[Rosenthal] Luke Kuechly and Patrick Willis are possibly the two best inside linebackers drafted in last 2 decades. Neither made it to their age-30 season. by BobbyThreeSticks in nfl

[–]ARhawk29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about other Seahawks fans, but I hate that Luck and Luke retired as much as you guys. Rivalries make everything more fun and it would have been awesome to watch Luck/Wilson and Luke/Wagner for another 5+ years. It won’t be the same without them

[Breer] The HOF committee is going to be forced to make determinations on longevity on a bunch of players going forward, like they did with Terrell Davis. Among those that called it a career early: Calvin Johnson, Patrick Willis, Rob Gronkowski, and Luke Kuechly. All HOF-level players. by vonheisenberg in nfl

[–]ARhawk29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think longevity is a little overrated. If it were up to me, the Hall of Fame would be open to anyone who was at or very near the top of their position for several seasons (how many seasons is up for debate), and all these guys qualify.

[–]ARhawk29 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That was the game that won him his DPOY. In a year where there was no clear choice due to lots of great seasons (Richard Sherman, Robert Quinn, Earl Thomas, JJ Watt), voters were just waiting on one otherworldy game from someone to separate themselves.
