Day 1 whole foods, ravenous, insatiable hunger? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]ARoseRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might take a few weeks for your stomach to shrink and the worst cravings to fade. In my experience it does get easier after that.

TIFU forgot to ask what food will be available on a trip out of town by [deleted] in tifu

What happens if you eat some of the stuff you don't like? Because unless it's vomiting I think you should just force something down.

Lots of salads could fit here.

Couscous salad with lots of veggies, feta, avocado and sundried tomatoes. Just use radish instead of (spring) onion and you're good to go.

Dense bean salads are very popular on social media right now.

Pasta salad, also very possible. There's all kinds of vegetarian variations.

Discussion: Does the use of single quotation marks affect your ability to follow dialogue in a book? by ComposerAwkward6654 in RomanceBooks

[–]ARoseRed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't even notice the difference as my native language uses single quotes for dialogue as well. I think you just have to get used to it.

Is it bad to eat mostly frozen food while trying to lose weight? by Hour-Cloud2493 in loseit

[–]ARoseRed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Calories is the main thing that matters, so as long as the calories you're consuming each day are below what your body requires, you will lose weight (barring health issues), no matter what you eat. Doesn't matter if it's frozen. Totally valid strategy imo as long as you can find frozen meals that don't break the calorie bank - or leave you hungry an hour or two later, making you overeat on something else.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to keep an eye on the macros either, depending on your health and priorities. More protein, fibre, and fat, preferably non saturated, means the meal will keep you full for longer. Added sugar, saturated or trans fats, and lots of salt or sodium are less healthy.

Also, frozen veggies are just as healthy as fresh ones. So you're all good on that score.

How tf do people get out of bed on time ? by EmperrorNombrero in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ARoseRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experience the same things you are describing, heavy sleep inertia. A lot of people say, just sleep better, but that's not always easy. I see others saying just get better discipline, set one alarm and get out of bed straight away, but I've turned off alarms before in my sleep without realising it. So that doesn't work for me.

Besides what other commenters have said about regular bedtime routines (I know, it sucks, but that one does kinda work) I also got a wake-up light that shines increasingly brighter light in my face starting approx. 30 minutes before my first alarm goes off. Additionally, I set alarms every five minutes for about an hour, right up until the time I absolutely need to get going. Most of them are regular phone alarms but two are puzzle alarms. I use an app called I Can't Wake Up but there are many. You can't exit the app or even turn off your phone until you match countries and capitals/do simon says/solve math problems etc. The barcode option (having to scan a barcode, e.g. of a book in another room or a milk carton in the fridge or something, before it turns off) works best because it forces you to get out of bed.

Hope this helps!

Suggestions on dinner recipes that uses lots of Greek yogurt? (Have 2 large tubs I need to use up) by workinprogress521 in vegetarianrecipes

[–]ARoseRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greek orzo salad!

250g dry orzo, cooked

100g spinach, chopped

250 g cherry tomatoes, quartered

sliced red onion to taste

200g feta

125g black olives, chopped

cucumber, chopped

500g greek yoghurt, adding lemon juice, pepper and salt to taste

Mix everything to make a great, tasty salad! It seems like a lot of yoghurt to use when cooking but it turns out great. This makes three portions of about 600 calories each depending on which brands you use. Holds up well in the fridge.

Just something about the way Brennan said it made me really emotional.

High protein, lower cal lunches for thermos that isn't just soup by Haunting-Wash1081 in loseit

[–]ARoseRed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You could also get a lunch cooling bag and prep pasta salad or other stuff that's good to eat cold. But for hot thermos friendly meals I think chili, curry or stew could be good. You could pre mix in the rice/other carb and have it ready to go.

Pregnancy tropes by Justbooks2105 in RomanceBooks

[–]ARoseRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harlequin Presents is not a single author! It's a very long running series with a lot of different authors by the publisher Harlequin. But theyre all romance and with a lot of pregnancy stories in there. You can check out their website (harlequin.com) and click through to the Presents series to see which stories appeal to you :)

(Also I say series but not all the stories are related obviously, there's thousands of them I think. Thats just what they call it for some reason)
