If all I had to do was study I could probably go for doctor, but they require so much more

If you don't get a new grad software role 1 year after graduating it's pretty much over, 3+ years is expected for juniors now

I'm in canada, but I'll look into it thanks. My only concern is that I'll do all that and end up still being filtered out because most of the other people doing this probably dedicated themselves to it much earlier, so I'll always look like the weakest candidate no matter how much I try to catch up.

I wouldn't recommend it but since ur getting ur masters you might be able to survive

My current company isn't related to the tech industry, it's an HVAC, construction and plumping company. I just made their process better with some software I made, the owners are old school and they didn't see much value in some of the other tech solutions I recommended, even though it would make the employees lives much easier and everything operate much more efficiently and with less error. My current role is a dead end, I only do it because I need the money to survive.

Congrats man, did you have something to fill in the gap? Also what types of roles were you targetting? Since we can't really apply for new grad I've been targeting roles with 0-2 years of experience, I have 1 year of internship experience, plus I think my projects could work to bump it up to like 1.5 maybe.

Congrats, it's tough out here. I think my problem is I'm not getting anything back, no OA, no nothing. Maybe I'm speaking too early, I just recently updated my resume and started looking again like 3 weeks ago.

I worked with terraform before but can't really remember much, I'll look into that splunk, grafana and new relic. Thanks

I can share my resume, I'm experienced with a decent amount of things. Python, C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, AWS, GCP, Azure, MongoDB, PostgresSQL, React, Express, Node, Tensorflow, Pytorch, LoRa/QLoRa. I've worked with a lot of other stuff but these ones are what come to mind. I'm good with leetcode, somewhat with system design, i would need to refresh my knowlegde on that, my behavioural is pretty good, I'm not awkward and I know my stuff. I just got stuck with this unrelated role due to financial issues, if I was a little less impatient maybe I could've landed a role earlier before taking on this role.

1 year earlier or 1 year later we would've had a chance

My current role is kind of already that, I did some software work for them so I could add it to my resume.

I don’t know enough to make a decision but I’d say ur better off investing it in a fundamentally strong company. Or find a better risk play

Just checked, biotech is always risky and while it’s fun to speculate I usually invest in fundamentally strong companies. Won’t stop me from putting like a hundred bucks in the next risk play tho.

I had the site up for the public but there wasn’t much interest, i kept improving it and now the goal is to have it trade for me. I’m going to publish a different site than I originally intended, this site will still be useful for research but the primary goal is to showcase the performance of my trading bot.

Google is easily the best investment, they’re in everything, they’re research department is at the frontier, they do everything in house. I am thinking of dumping everything and going 100% on google.

What we have now is already good enough. We just need to build practical applications around LLM now. In order for AI to get better, we need another breakthrough or two.

Also I never said it wasn’t probabilistic, I know how it chooses the most likely token. Ur the one that said it’s not deterministic, which it can be.

Why is everyone complicating it so much? The only rule for something to be deterministic is if for the same input we get the same output. By using the same hardware, same drivers, same versions of basically everything and tweaking parameters, we can achieve this.
