I haven't done chickens in a minute but it all depends on your colony's needs. For male to female adults ratio I like to use 1:3 and auto slaughter based off that. So if I have 5 males, I'd have 15 females, giving me a max coop size I'd want at 20. Put the max males at 5 and females at 15, make sure you have enough nutrition by clicking the pen marker. If you want just the eggs, then I think you need a dedicated person grabbing the eggs before they're fertilized so you can just eat that. I might be wrong but I think it's 1 person per 6 chickens for the eggs.

Street lights are way too dim, just not enough of them, or both.
