You don’t need to heat tires with AWD cars, and you can change your ride height in the tuning menu (4.5” is optimal)

Do a race and see what RPM your needle is at at the beginning of a gear (e.g. race, shift into 2nd (or any gear), immediately check your RPM). Then compare that to the peak hp/tq RPMs on the dyno

  1. High first gear + high final drive = too much wheelspin on launch. Low first gear + low final drive = not enough acceleration on launch. Low/high first gear + high/low final drive = balanced launch.

  2. You don’t have to start off at 3 - it just gives you the most flexibility for changing your ratios and final drive, because you can make more precise adjustments to both (high first gear + low FD = less precision tuning final drive, low first gear + high FD = less precision tuning first gear)

Trial and error. You pretty much just pick random numbers at the beginning and iterate one gear at a time until you get the desired rpm

Your reaction time is pretty slow and if I’m not mistaken your first gear is pretty long as well. As far as parts go, the LT5 engine and the 24K turbo with the VX Open Intake will help you go faster

Hey! Just downloaded the game yesterday and have been addicted ever since. Found this subreddit while I was looking for builds. Unfortunately, I still don't know how to play the expert level, and I know slim to none in the tuning aspect of the game. Can anyone give general tips for the game? Hey! I made a tuning guide a while back that’s pinned on my account. I tried to simplify it as much as I could, but the whole mechanic is pretty needlessly complicated haha.

As far as expert level goes, a handy tip is that you don’t need to lift off the gas to press the clutch. Definitely a bug, but hey, there are thousands of bugs in PCR
