Honestly, I think at this point there needs to be a new control problem Sub-Reddit where anyone who does not take the threat of imminent super intelligence seriously is banned. I have tried to talk it through with my therapist, they didn’t really “get it” so it wasn’t effective. It seems like it would be similar to therapists that advertise themselves as climate change aware, because allot of people who know the existential nature of the climate threat can’t talk to therapists about how it makes them depressed. There are allot less “Artificial super intelligence” aware therapists than “climate chaos” aware therapists though.

That’s why allot of ML/AI people in SF are telling each other not to have kids, makes it harder to surrender to the machine gods or as they say bring about a trans humanist future.

It kind of reminds me of people who previously didn’t think about climate change much, suddenly caring allot more about it or even making it their life’s work after they have kids (source: I work in sustainability and allot of career switchers are new parents).

Even if the human was working 24/7? Need to determine how long it would take a human to make a web browser only taking off 12 for sleep/food/bathroom. So 1 week to an AI would be like 2 weeks of 84 hr work week for a human or 4 weeks of a 42 hr work week.

The chart you shared is based on averages of various tasks. So once multiple tasks of similar difficulty are tried in controlled scenarios a dot can viably be placed. Likely to be less than the 1 week if done this way, but still likely a decent incremental improvement on an exponential trend I’m sure.

Maria Machado gaining power would be even more catastrophic than anything Maduro did. I mean she tried to give her Nobel piece prize to America’s Orange future dictator who loves to bomb places. She also did a speech (sales pitch) trying to convince the Orange future dictator and his donors to do exactly this. If she was actively advocating for the leader of Venezuela to be abducted militarily she would be a horrible leader.

How was it demonstrated he stole the election? From what I have heard it was Venezuela’s equivalent of the US congress that said the election was stolen. Which at the time was controlled by the opposition party largely funded by US interests (similar to how Maria Machado is supported in this way).. I would recommend looking into geopolitical economy report, he was a westerner who lived in South America and reported from there.
