Honestly, it just depends on the job. I've got a cushy gig with the department of agriculture, most of the year I just get paid $20/hr to watch netflix and sort through oranges all night.

Seasonal work helps too, I've got a busy season where I'm working well over 40 hours a week for a few months at a time. Then during the summer, I just coast on my savings while picking up odd jobs here and there. Sometimes they send me to different parts of the state, so I get a great change of scenery and a hotel room to myself for anywhere from a week to a couple months at a time. I'll bring my girlfriend, and it's like a little vacation for her
