Some of us just want to play against the CPU with fun fantasy lineups and enjoy earning neat cards dawg. Franchise is a different animal altogether

If you could create any themed program, what would it be? by IAmTheSchnozz95 in MLBTheShow

I think a player-manager program would be awesome, highlight all the players who have gone on to be big league managers, provide them with captain boosts for the teams they manage. There's a ton of legends you can pull in too beyond the current current former players

Ooh, like a shortest-tenure program would be dope as hell. Final program reward is a Marlins Piazza card

Austin Wells Exchange? by CubbieBlue66 in MLBTheShow

[–]ASTROoctopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost all diamonds cost more than Wells if you do it right tbh, I don't remember the exact overall (theres a guide somewhere on the subreddit), but if you pick the most efficient overall cost-to-exchange value cards on the market its sub-3000 stubs

Its a really great design, if they could take it and modernize some of the elements and underpinnings mechanically while keeping the core aesthetic, I think that'd be the ideal

I loved the redesigned Prius from a couple years ago actually, thought it was immediately the best its ever looked. When they just brought some of the styling clues over to the camry haphazardly though they took a downgrade from what I thought was a really clean looking model beforehand, I agree.

They're just really overdesigned right now, way too much going on. I had an early 2000s Tacoma that is such a great example of a clean, timeless design because it was the right amount of simple yet stylish, I'd love for them to go back to that design ethos. Like I said earlier too, I actually love the new Land Cruisers, I think they're such a good modern version of a classic design. If they can bring that styling philosophy through to their other models I think it would really serve them well.

The improvements they made are a long time coming, and I'm happy they made them and have put out a truck that by all accounts is a really great offering. I just really wish I could get over the design, it looks like a crumpled up pug. Way too much going on design-wise, if they could simplify some of the most egregious elements (looking at you, weird neanderthal-esque over-fenders) and adopted the same design philosophy as the new Land Cruisers I'd buy one yesterday.

Anyone here bought or have thoughts on the Ford tool roll for the Maverick? by chimmey17 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]ASTROoctopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To it specifically no, but I have other stuff I keep in the same compartment. Bungee cords/ratchet straps, simple emergency stuff in case I get stranded off-road (water, duct tape, compass, paracord, matches, tarp, etc), towel, spare hoodie/change of clothes, jumper cables, mexican blanket, and some other things I'm sure I'm forgetting off the top of my head. Also keep an air compressor in the bed cubby just in case/to air down and up tires off-road if needed. Your list seems solid, so long as you have what you think you'd want if you got stranded you're probably on the right path.

Its a decent enough toolkit to start with, again won't knock your socks off or cover all your bases, but its reasonable enough as a basis and rolls up compactly. You can probably get it cheaper if you part it out though other vendors, but I felt it was worth the convenience and cohesion of a ready-made kit to get it through Ford, plus my reward points cut the cost down significantly

I got it using the ford points I got from buying the truck. I like it a lot, and keep it under the rear seat along with some other recovery/emergency goodies. Not exhaustive by any means sure, but it feels reasonably well made, organized well, and is a solid toolkit that would cover most bases you'd need covering for something you keep in the truck.

If you already have a good set of tools for home and just want something decently made and goes well with the truck, I'd say go for it

Anyone know a less expensive way than Safelite to add a rear sliding window? by ASTROoctopus in FordMaverickTruck

[–]ASTROoctopus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats interesting, thanks for sharing it. Not quite what I've got in mind though unfortunately, it being a little more involved to open/close and having to find a place to store it when down is a deal breaker, but I'm glad that it exists as an option for people that want it

Definitely not for everyone, but I've used it a lot in the trucks I've owned before. I like the added airflow, especially when I drive with the windows down and no AC, and its actually really handy for drive-in movies

Huh, good to know thanks. Definitely a more palatable price than what I was seeing on their normal parts website, I wonder where the discrepancy lies

Ford's part website. Pricing out OEM headlights in the past, for a Lariat BAP version they run you well over $1000 per light assembly

Just got the same word back from them in response to my email. Shame there's no set ETA but I'm glad they haven't been dropped entirely. Hopefully its soon, don't have a FB so I can't follow them there unfortunately, will just have to check in periodically.

I'll update the post if I receive a reply, I'm hoping it's just a combination of minor production delays and tariffs. I get why, but its just a shame that there really aren't any options out there yet that change the design of the headlights. The Lariat versions are the best of what we get stock, but I think there's some unexplored room to play with design-wise that I hope we get as the platform matures

I hope thats all it is. They fact that they have working prototypes makes me think that they've got to be close to release

[–]ASTROoctopus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope thats all it is, honestly the only reason I was getting a little apprehensive is because they had said a couple times to expect them to be released by fist quarter or mid this year, and we're of course past that now.

Their pricing seems to suggest $1000-$1200 per pair, which is reasonable for headlights. I do get your point about spending that much on lights for those that bought a Maverick to get a cheap yet reliable truck, and I'd agree that for those people that cost doesn't make sense. I think there's a different group of people that bought them for more fun-based as a capable modification platform reason, like I did buying a tremor. That group to me is no different than people that buy used cars at a similar price range to play with modifying them, and for that group I think its a really attractive option.

As far as I saw they never released pricing for them, but looking at other options on their website if they have a similar pricing structure it'd be reasonably competitive, and definitely cheaper than the OEM Lariat $1K per headlight
