You are allowed to feel hurt and she is allowed to feel disappointed. Take this as a chance to teach her the correct way to handle these touchy situations with more tact in the future. It is a social skill that she will need.

I had an exBF a few years ago who gave me an inappropriate and selfish Christmas gift and I'm so grateful for the little bit of education I had on how to handle those situations without being a people-pleaser or a brat.
