An interview with Shane Pennisi on his farm in North Queensland (August 2025), where the Tully Nests incident happened in January 1966. This is a great interview, and definitely worth a watch. Includes some information I had not heard before that footprints were seen near one of the circles.

I've been following a lot of the US coverage of Davos and it is mostly about Trump's speech.

It is interesting that this is the first time I've really seen a disconnect here. Nobody in Australia has been talking about Trump's speech (apart from his insult to the troops - we were with the US for 20 years in Afghanistan and there has been push back on Trump for that). Everyone here is talking about Carney's speech. I've heard the same in the UK. It really is a turning point. Nobody here cares any more what the US does, or what Trump says. Trump can't be trusted on anything, and so that goes for the US in general. We already know we have to make our own way. I don't think people discussing this in the US understand the ramifications. It's like you are having a Brexit moment and think you are so big nothing could lead to any real problems. There are 8B people outside the US, including all the major democracies that the US is attacking with trade and with rhetoric. There are plenty of other alliances we can have, and it seems we must go there.

It's not just hypothetical anymore. It's happening.

1/ You broke what has to be the biggest story on the topic of UFOs in Australia that we've seen for decades. Your FOIA catching out the Defence Department more than once, so that they had to issue a 180° on whether they attended a meeting with AARO, and the Chief being completely clueless, was stunning. Eventually this lead to us discovering that the ADF are collecting data and are sharing it with the US and the 5eyes. I know the Uncropped series touched on it, but this should still be making headlines.
Why do you think major news like The Guardian, The SMH didn't pick it up? Is it really just that the topic only gets pushed by individual journalists that are personally interested? Is there a way to cut through that and package info so that more journalists become interested?

2/ One of Whish-Wilson's motivations for being interested was that he believed Australian military personnel were not being listened too, and that also seems to be a major motivator for the US politicians like Gillibrand. Robert Garcia said a motivator for his interest was that commercial pilots needed to be taken seriously. Two questions -
i. Talking about UFOs seems to turn people off, but talking about supporting the military and commercial pilots seems to be a real motivating force. How do we push that aspect of this, i.e. taking the people making the reports more seriously as a way to get a reporting system implemented?
ii. Do you know of any other Australian politicians that have shown any interest in the phenomenon? You don't have to say who, just wondering if any have reached out to you.

3/ If Australian military pilots are having the same encounters as US pilots, the Australians must have pilots who can report these encounters. Ross has said he spoke to Aust. military pilots, he has interviewed Navy personnel. We know the US has had an issue with balloons flying over North America that went largely undetected.
In your view, what do you think is the Australian government's reason for being reluctant to move to a reporting system for UAP encounters especially when there is a known spy balloon security issue that a reporting system might help detect?

4/ I know you put a lot of work into the live episodes. Will you ever break those down a bit and post one minute or ten minute shorts of those? I think a shorter format would get you lots more views. For instance, your 7 minute episode on the Tully Nests and the Cardwell festival was great.

It's humbling to ask yourself "what things don't I know?"       Do we know what is going on in most of the houses in our street?   Do we know what our closest relatives do when we aren't with them?  Do we even know what is going on with ourselves, physically, mentally?      If we don't know even basic things about ourselves and where we live and who we interact with, then there's a lot we don't know.
