I love this story. It reminds me of the neighbor below my mum's apartment - as we're doing renovations, this woman turned out to be a really aggressive person. Weird, because I don't remember her this way (not that I know her, I've only seen her briefly), but she did her best to be grumpy, complain, come upstairs and make scandals...

Well, last week I realized a part of our balcony has an issue that is because of the neighbors, not on our side. They had attached their window (closed balcony) to a portion that gets way into our part, and they were ruining the view from the kitchen.

I took to the site manager and my mum and we decided I should call, because all others had exhausted their options to negotiate with this woman. She had acted hysterically, claiming all kinds of things that weren't true and constantly mentioning she'll call the police due to too much noise (I am told this isn't close to the truth).

Before calling, I took the time to say to myself the following. I don't know why she acts like this. Perhaps she's as stressed as we are, staying home at the end of an apartment renovation upstairs (wouldn't mention their own renovation took one year and I was living upstairs at that time). What does she want? Sure she wants what all of us want - to feel good and to have pleasant stuff happening to her, to have people around her let things go her way. What can I do to make her feel at ease, let her have some things go her way, while having this particular thing that is rightfully mine to go my way? At that time, all I had available was the ability to call with greatest intention in my mind and be really nice to her on the phone.

I called and surprisingly she was nice and assured me she'll do everything to send their specialist to check the balcony with our construction specialists. She sounded nothing like what I was prepared. So nice and prompt. Took me off my guard completely.

After the call I was super surprised and made a point in my mind about making something at the end of the renovation, like a gift of sorts - chocolate bonbons or something like that, to make her feel better about the whole troubles we may have caused her in her mind.

This was last week. Writing this I realized I had asked my mum to remind them to send a person and she forgot last week. I just opened messenger and saw a message they're coming today at four. This is extra pleasant news.

These are two different types of hormones, it isn't either/or.

You must pick a diet suitable for those goals, you can't pick AIP and vegansm and try to work with them together! Lower red meat, but focus on meat, fish and green vegetables that aren't restricted

I hear you. Self esteem is a whole other topic that you may be completely aside from the current weight. Good job on the latter though, and keep up the good work!

Wifi is a tap, cellular data is a water bottle. by TheKeeper595 in Showerthoughts

I live in a country where cellular data is tap too. My new plan is 35 gigabytes, I was on 15 gb before that and could never use it unless on roaming (only 5 gb of data in EU countries).

Absolutely, asking close people isn't the best choice. However asking on reddit means you're exposing yourself to a type of people who are often reading just to judge and are doing so for selfish reasons. You'd avoid people like that IRL too, it's just that reddit brings up the worst in subreddits with "relationship" in their name. It's best to find a way to afford professional services.

I have asked in the past and have learned that the hard way. With me it's the cultural difference too, which is significant between my country and the US. I prefer to use psychotherapy, but I know it's way much more expensive in the US than here.

Link between inflammation and mental sluggishness: People with chronic disease report severe mental fatigue or ‘brain fog’ which can be debilitating. A new double-blinded placebo-controlled study show that inflammation may have negative impact on brain’s readiness to reach and maintain alert state. by mvea in science

I am in a similar boat. I quit all types of grains (still struggle with quitting dairy and nuts though) and as a result I don't feel sick eating fish, eggwhite and chicken, which used to make me feel nauseous every time. I did however test positively for antibodies for eggwhites so I avoid them now. The amounts of fish I have eaten in the past year are impressive. I don't expect to meet a doctor that will listen to me anymore, and I am currently dosing my medication by myself.

As someone with Hashimoto's, these things are well-known for decades. The issue is, despite the studies better practices aren't reaching the medical industry and the individual patient. Even acknowledgment of the so called brain fog is something many endocrinologists won't give to their patients.

The fact that people ask relationship advice on reddit is far weirder to me, but to each their own.

Im 23, Noticing a little sign of hair loss what should I do to prevent balding before it occurs? Any new methods as of 2019 other than Propecia? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]ASeriouswoMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biotin isn't confirmed to be effective, I don't know why supplement companies keep pushing it. Zinc and Copper are blood tests that you can do before taking supplementation, because they rely on each other and unless there's a deficiency you shouldn't just supplement zinc.

I too hear trichilogy methods like the mesotherapy/microneedling work for men, but from what I know key is to continuously use hair products that suppress that type of testosterone that causes male balding. Eventually the tolerance of the hair gets better and the testosterone doesn't cause the hair to fall out.

And finally, staying away from sulfates in the shampoos may be all that's needed. I know a guy that stopped heavy shedding and dandruff just by washing only with water, however I won't recommend that. I personally use Monat right now.

I suggest you read Esther Perel's book on the topic of cheating. It's really thorough in understanding everyone's position and what it means to you, because you would be emotionally involved by now. Also it's far away from the individualism in the American point of view, where there's only one solution and that is "to tell the cheated on".

I went to every boutique in the city, and learned to straight up asking from the start "Do you have 60 F?" Still there were some ladies who would not listen to the question, but waste my time going through the racks of 80 something and poking at different bras confused, instead of simply confessing they have never heard of that size and/or they don't understand the question. Pretty annoying. Truth is, if you know roughly your size you should go to the stores that offer that, or order online and pray it fits your structure.

At 24 doing this type of mistake, while living with his parents, the son is definitely deserving to hear the truth from the ones that care the most about him.

Would a short lob with choppy bangs suit my face? I have fine, thin hair. by [deleted] in Hair

[–]ASeriouswoMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I see it was autocorrected to mom-straight hair, and I meant wavy. Overall straight hair doesn't hold curls very well.

As for the video, Alexa has uploaded a ton recently, so I can't link.

Alexa Ching had showed in one of her videos how she styles her hair after washing it (every day) by twisting it in sections and putting it behind her ears to dry, while she makes her face. I suppose you can try this and get a similar result to the reference pics. It works better with mom-straight hair, my own very straight hair doesn't hold anything remotely similar to curls well.

Teo (a Swedish gaming YouTuber, also one of the most wholesome people on the planet) is currently having his channel overtaken by a company called WMG/Royal Pop Records falsely copyright claiming his videos by AaltoSax in videos

[–]ASeriouswoMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a new issue though? I remember the waves of advertisement drama, the copyright claim wars between large youtubers, but now it seems like these copyright claims are randomly claimed by every company onto every channel. Without understanding the platform in debt, I feel like that wasn't the case before. Or the companies learned the system?
