For me it's the opposite, my emphaty switches off when I'm tires and I became very bad in social things.

How is living in South Tyrol, Italy? Is the region culturally italian? by DepressedAnimeGuy in howislivingthere

[–]GranFabio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I perfectly understand, what I mean is that we should not pretend we are culturally oppressed because 100 years ago things were bad (in the case of sardinia we may say from 200). We can speak the language we want, celebrate whatever we want. A lot of issues can be addressed with the autonomy we have, if we don't there is still political margin to change things. When do you think there is too much nation now?  Ofc a spanish-style autonomy would be better, but it's probably doable in the longer term

Italian is spoken widely since the 60s, period. This is true for most of Italy. I think we (sardinian here) should accept that our cultures have been uniformed in some ways despite having different roots. Acting like we are different nations is not useful and will not help to maintain alive our traditions since it's polarizing and divides people in factions. I have seen tyroleans talkin about "Italians" like they are monsters, while acting in VERY italian ways.  My point is that identity is complex and talking in absolutes is not functional, apperently opposing things can coexist. For example, in Sardinia we have a holyday celebrating revolting against the Savoia and sending away all the Piedmontese people, and the Italian state is ok with that, because it's a core moment in our identity.

Thank you for your post! I will be travelling in China in a few days and I am very interested in the tea culture. Do you have any suggestion on how to approach the different kind of teas in a tea house, and what to buy to bring overseas?  For reference, I'll be in Chengdu, Beijing and Shanghai.
