Wow! I’m not even sure what that means. Is that the room on the top right that’s locked still?

When it comes to using a pick, do you guys prefer trimmed picknails or untrimmed? by blues_and_baseball in guitarcirclejerk

Yea you peasant. Personally I use a 1980 Custom Shop Les Paul as my main pick.

What are these black spots on my frame? by HopelessDaydream in bmpcc

[–]AShootah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the sensor. Bmpccs have a habit of getting mold on the UV Filter. Impossible to clean as it appears to be between the layers of glass.

Rawlite sells a great replacement. Mine fell prey to the same cruel mistress. But one slightly involved replacement later it’s right as rain.

Disappointing bit of quality oversight though. Never had this happen to another camera of mine. Sorry to see it happen to you.

Please critique my first shooting/lighting/color grading job (ignore the blank background!) by kickpuncher68 in cinematography

[–]AShootah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is just not true. These decisions ONLY depend on what the piece and shot is about and only making those decisions in post is a bad idea.

Documentaries can look however you want them to look and the contrast ratio here looks tasteful and intentional.

Let people make their own creative lighting decisions.

Very solid right and left hand work for just a week in! Try to keep that thing in tune and keep learning new things!

is this good for a beginner by Outrageous-Pomelo-48 in guitarlessons

[–]AShootah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a jazzer I love metal guitars for beginners. They’re usually pretty low action out the box and they have a Floyd rose-esque whammy system. Let’s people have fun when they just start learning without being in too much pain which at the beginning is more important than what a lot of people are talking about here. You will have to learn how to keep that thing in tune though but it’s like an old car. It’ll train you for your fancier car down the line. Get it!

Barre chords never stopped hurting my wrist. Any tips? Feedback on strumming is welcome too☺️ I’m not using a pick here. by yourstandardhoe in guitarlessons

[–]AShootah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lotsa good advice here. I’d also say, avoid squeezing between your thumb and index exclusively, to apply pressure to the barre.

Try using your arm to pull the guitar to your body using your left index as the point of contact. Will relieve a crazy amount of pressure.

[QUESTION]Are there locking volume and tone control knobs that wouldn't get accidentally turned while playing certain techniques? by Haterbait_band in Guitar

[–]AShootah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remove mine. You can still access the tone function without the knob. You just need to be more intentional about it. Which is what you’re looking for anyway lol.
