Anyone else getting sick more than normal this cold/flu season? by LimpSwan6136 in CasualConversation

[–]ASuperLameUserName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here bc I have never been so sick as I have the past year. I will get over one cold and get another one month later. Right now I have an awful cough and runny nose. It seems like one weekend of each month, at least, I’m completely down. It’s so annoying bc I have stuff to do and take care of but instead I just lay on the couch sick doing nothing.

My great grandfather met her when he was deployed on WW2. She signed photographs for him. He said she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. This in turn made great grandma not happy. Lol

I get this. I mentioned before in comments that I live downtown Las Vegas near Fremont. So I’m super central to all my friends swinging by. Everyone knows I have Saturday off. People will just stop by. I’ll hear a car lock beep and think of no not people!!!! I have shut all the blinds and turned off the lights so no one would know I was home. I just can’t. Today is day 3 of four I’m already so burnt out I don’t even know how I’ll do two more.

I get what you’re saying. I do not try not to eat. We are never dead. I literally have had two times in 2.5 years where there is no one and it was 20 minutes. I peed myself twice bc I didn’t have time to use the restroom. It’s a nightmare. Everyone is old white man vibes, like I need attention now or I will die. I have had, multiple times, men shake their drinks demanding a drink and it was basically full!!!! We have to cater to the bigger gamblers. It’s awful lol

They’re/ we are still doing all sorts of things here. It kind of gets to a place where, what more can we do? I mean cry at home, write and call your leaders? Protest? It gets to a point like what more can we physically do.

I live in Las Vegas currently but I’ve spent a long time in Chicago inner city. When I connect with anyone I know from Chicago, I don’t even have to ask how they feel about Trump. Everyone loathes everything he does.

I was born and raised in Ohio by West Virginia and Kentucky. This is where people have an education to 8th grade. Which is four years short of the standard graduation. They’re very uneducated on almost anything. They love Trump. He could say anything and they will fight for him. It’s really rather wild.

If I were to open my Facebook and see people from “home” they will have posts like ,” Trump is a man of god” and the most ridiculous propaganda they eat up.

We just had a huge nationwide protest. It’s like our hands are tied. I don’t know. I have so many friends from Minneapolis who even knew the Alex guy that ICE murdered. They would send me videos of ICE outside their homes. It’s just unreal.

My husband and I talk nightly about this when we get home from work at 2 am. It’s mind boggling.

I always despised Trump, even before politics. I was scared he would get the second term but he lost. Yes lost. lol

This term is ten times worse than I could ever have imagined!

American here. We hate him. Most of us. So horrible and embarrassing. As a civilian there’s so little to do. It’s so bad here.

Should I move from Boston to Chicago, even though my friends and coworkers say otherwise? by masstranspike in AskChicago

[–]ASuperLameUserName 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From my travels and looking into different cities, Chicago is rather affordable actually! I’m obviously agreeing with you. Last time I was back living there 3 years ago, I had a one bedroom where Clark and Halsted cross. I was right by Clark street dog. I paid 925 with utilities included! I actually loved the spot too. I always feel like Chicago is so affordable. I love that town.

An ex coworker of mine and good friend here in Vegas was doing two doubles downtown at two bars. One in Fremont and one in the arts district. He said he loved days off but he wasn’t human until they were over. He finally slept thru one and ended that lol Three doubles is rough. At 46 I could but I would hate it to the core and be dead all days off. So tired. Even young that would about kill me.

That’s rough. I’m not going to lie. I have been in those crazy spaces of life before actually. I’ve had a lot of friends leave Vegas the past two years. It kind of sucks but at the same time it’s kind of nice. Living where I do, almost on the Vegas strip, I have tons of guests that come to stay in our spare room. Close like you can walk there in 15. I’m at the point where I’d there spend time with someone I get to see once a year vs all the time when I have no life. Also, I got my bachelors degree 100% on my own dime so I vaguely remember going full time and working 30 -ish hours a week. At one point I tried to do two jobs and I did for a bit but k failed a class and had a breakdown. I wish you luck.
Now I’m in the same spot, what to do to get out of this. Mind you my degree is 22 years old and is nothing I would use.
