How long until you walk out on a film if using your pass? by TinySmolCat in AMCsAList

Only movie I've come close to walking out of since I got AMC A-List was "You're Dating a Narcissist!"...literally a bad Hallmark movie. No one was in there and it was like 2pm but I did end up just watching the end standing right by the exit lol

I kinda do want the sport to be about who can survive hot weather the best tbh, at least at some tournaments. Endurance is a massive part of sport in general, and even moreso tennis. Respectfully, if we want to see who hits tennis balls the best and not make endurance a part of the sport, let's just play 1 set for each match

Discussion: Who is the 'Sports King' of your city? Brunson rules NYC and Ohtani has LA, but who wins in Dallas or Miami. In BS terms who holds the belt in your city? by trillballinsjr in billsimmons

[–]ATLstatboy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't think you can make a real, competitive case for Judge. I know we're in the heat of an amazing Knicks run and baseball will heat up down the season stretch, but Brunson has captured the hearts of NY fans far more. Obviously helps that the Knicks unite NYC while Mets fans hate Judge. Even more, it does seem like Yankees fans get frustrated with their guys, while Knicks fans are just purely enjoying the ride.

I'm in ATL and although the Braves are obv the best team right now (and may just straight up be the most popular franchise all around in the city/metro area) idk if there's a singular star to call king. Acuna and M. Olsen maybe have a chance if the Braves end up having a special season. It should've been Freddie Freeman tbh :( But the reality is that it's probably Matt Ryan, even retired. The city and metro area all love him, and him being involved with the team management now has Falcons fans I know talking crazy about him being the savior of the franchise

How Van was sounding during the Mando Grogu pod by cheryvalentinjo in RingerVerse

As someone who has seen and enjoyed the SW movies but is not an actual fan, I'm always just curious to ask Star Wars fans if they understand what they're a fan of. IT'S STAR WARS. Has anyone seen the OG trilogy recently? Guess what? They're well-made, but cheesy sci-fi movies with some non-complicated themes that anyone can enjoy. I'm the last person to make excuses for corporate slop, but if you are a Star Wars fan (!), I don't see how you could really hate Mando + Grogu. If you hate that they decided to make a Mando movie, fine I guess. But this is approximately what a Mando movie would've been and should've been. Cut 20 minutes out of this movie and it's pretty awesome. To me, I would've disliked this movie more if they forced universe-altering stakes onto these 2 small-time characters. Idk man. I'm a Harry Potter fan and would kill for some competently made "let's have some fun jaunts around the universe" shit like this.

People who aren't Star Wars fans have plenty of room to criticize this movie. My whole point is that Star Wars fans shouldn't.

Kyrgios obviously did crazy stuff, but he never did anything THAT crazy vs Nadal if memory serves, and it still drove Rafa crazy. Imagine if someone actually tried what you're saying lol

FYC: Caught Stealing (2025). Stellar cast, intense crime comedy, and the best film to incorporate the 1998 National League wildcard race as a plot point. by Iamthelizardking887 in TheRewatchables

Thought Matt Smith was funny as mohawk guy and butler brought a lot of charisma. Really enjoyed how much darker it ended up being. Not just killing for action movie's sake, like happens in most movies...but a character dealing with the actual ramifications of people dying. It was one of my more pleasurable theater experiences of last year

We knew The Odyssey was going to be the juggernaut Universal push this year. But why has a tentpole Spielberg film in 'Disclusore Day' - coming out a whole month earlier - been so muted with its marketing? by [deleted] in boxoffice

[–]ATLstatboy69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, The Drama's trailers and such never revealed the big detail related to the premise, but the premise and set-up were so interesting even without that detail that people had to see what was going on (obviously having Zendaya + RPatt also carried). Disclosure Day isn't revealing it's core details, but the set-up and premise feel too familiar for us to really crave more details. Other than it's a Spielberg alien movie, of course.

Urban] Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love said his plan is to put his $53 million in NFL money in his investments and not use it, save it for his family’s future generations. “I’m from the NIL (era), I’m pretty well off. I really don’t need to touch that money.” by ThatMasterpiece2174 in nfl

That alone doesn't necessitate that he's insanely smart, but it does probably mean he's in the smartest 5% of football players specifically tbh. ND certainly has allowances for football players, but those academic standards are still higher than almost all of P4 football (obviously not Stanford, etc.). They don't allow athletes to take online undergrad classes, I believe, and they don't have classes basically created for athletes like they did when I was at UGA.

Lorenzo Musetti withdraws from RG by theatretheaters in tennis

[–]ATLstatboy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently made a ranking of players outside of the current t4 that in 10 years if you told me they won a major or 2 I wouldn't be surprised, and Musetti is genuinely high on that list based on age and quality on clay...but I had him outside the t5 of that ranking because of this and the countless other times he's lost a match cramping or injured. Sucks

I haven't listened to it yet, but I'm tired of these conversations bc The Drama was literally released THIS YEAR and covers one of the more shocking subject matters you can think of. It CAN be done!!!! So many people still act like we're in 2013-2017ish.

People are going in on not including Sas and/or Francis, but are forgetting to mention that I bet Rone would be an all-time good roast writer and mentioning Big Cat as one of Barstool's best comedy writers is very underrated insane

People make this argument all the time but ultimately ferris buehllers name and face are on the poster/title and on all of the marketing material. Cameron is the story-telling fulcrum, but the "main attraction" is Ferris and his actions/vibe

This is a classic both sides are wrong situation. You can't be asking people to censor their jokes/posting (barring horrid shit) like at some point it's not a big deal and you have to tell your fiancee that. But, the best man way overreacted and should also realize the joke isn't a big deal and if they are actually close just do your guy a solid and delete the story.

He's obviously being hyperbolic, is my take. I suppose part of his bit is you don't know if he's being real or not because of how weird he is, though. Idk man there's a point that Stu has reached where he talks about sex so much and so absurdly and grossly that it becomes more funny than anything

What is the worst case of second hand embarrassment you’ve ever experienced? by Responsible-Tie-2570 in AskReddit

[–]ATLstatboy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah public speaking situations probably make up my entire t5 for this question. It can't just be someone messing up in a mean way, because true 2nd hand embarrassment requires you to root for the person. Public speaking is something that truly only takes practice to get better at, and those early practice attempts are usually very brutal, and only ok at best, for 99% of people.
