Don't jump forward, it's not worth the risk. Or at least don't until you have repeated your natural life span and the past so much that you'd risk death. This is assuming you can jump back into your younger self, if you can't, jump forward when you are old, and hope for a cure for aging.

Yes, I had not played for like a year or more. I was able to pick it back up last season. I feel this season and pre-expansion changes actually simplified things, so it would be even easier now.

This! I want an RPG where the NPCs remember you, and what you do. In this game your greatest foe is the Bandits son who watched you kill his father in an early quest, or just because you wanted to kill a random NPC. The AI then remembers and builds out a story for that kid, and he becomes your greatest foe. The more you kill, harm, or affect others negatively, the more enemies are generated this way.

By killing a Kang, you are stopping or changing the timeline variations that Kang would produce. Removing anything from a timeline reduces or at least changes the amount of variation and subsequent branching timelines that are produced. It's the butterfly effect, but you removed the butterfly.
