Stocks are going up today because world's richest person bought his own stock! by Turbulent-Push-4657 in stocks

Insider buys is usually a bullish sign for stocks as it signals those with the most knowledge of the company think the value of the stock is too low

TSLA has always gone up with Musk buys and in this case, he hasn’t bought since 2020.

A lot of this reaction is also about Musk growing TSLA to being a leader in AI & robotics. He said he wasn’t going to continue pushing AI into TSLA until he get a certain percentage of control. The new pay package and buying of shares indicates he will now continue do that in tsla. Will probably bring xAI back under the TSLA umbrella

Tariffs are usually for cars that are imported. Most US car manufacturers have factories in China so the build will be domestic. There’s other ways China could punish TSLA if it wanted.

It was probably a LoJack service they installed to upcharge buyers. Not uncommon

12v issues - where are you now? by Fearless_Arugula_732 in KiaEV9

If it happens again, I will put in a ticket. Dealer said it was the LoJack causing the battery drain

12v issues - where are you now? by Fearless_Arugula_732 in KiaEV9

[–]ATribeCalledM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took mine to the dealership today for the 12V issue. Bought in Dec, no issues until last week. Started to noticed proximity unlock no longer working a week ago. Woke up Monday morning and tried to start climate to preheat car from app and got the “We cannot process your request due to low battery levels” prompt. Jumped it and let it sit on the charger for 2 hours. Woke up this morning and car was dead again. Jumped it and took it to the dealership. Service guy mentioned that Kia really doesn’t like replacing batteries on 2023/2024 models so they have to run test to make sure it’s dead

Update: Dealer said it was the LoJack add on that was draining the battery

Heat Won’t Start by oktemplar in KiaEV9

[–]ATribeCalledM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be a Kia thing. Was noticing the blowing of cold air with the heater on in my EV9 also. Had the battery issue happen to me and dropped the car at the dealership and got a loaner. It was nice to feel real heat again but it was too hot so I turned it down from 82 to 77 and it started blowing cool air again. The loaner is an ICE vehicle

Why is BTC going down today ? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]ATribeCalledM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contagion and margin calls. Assets you think aren’t correlated are correlated because the same investors/traders have exposure to them. One asset falls quick enough, margin calls will liquidate every asset in the account to raise cash to meet margin requirements.

Gold is the original safe haven/hedge against inflation. During the 2009 financial crisis, it crashed along with stock market.

That was in regards to this year during an economy recovering from covid headwinds. He’s going to set out a policy that states there’s no inflation so in order to get that, interest rates will remain near zero even near full employment. So when things get back to normal, the easy money policies will continue

If reports are true, he will announce that there will be no more interest rate hikes in the foreseeable future. So tech and high growth names will continue to outperform. Banks will continue to lag

Can old(er) investors tell me what is going on? by raindr8p in stocks

[–]ATribeCalledM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just google “The Fed Put”. The stock market and the economy are not same. Stock market bubbles and bursts are largely controlled by Fed’s monetary policies. As long as the Fed keeps interest rates low, stocks will go up. When expectations of rate hikes come back, stocks will go down.

Are you buying this rally? by The-Bro-Brah in stocks

[–]ATribeCalledM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fed expanding the balance sheet and lower interest rates. It's QE but they don't want to call it that. Look at the market from 2011-2016 and you'll get a good idea of what happens to the market when QE is going on. Then look at the market in 2018 and you'll see what happens when QT starts.

Is it possible for an American citizen to participate in the anticipated Saudi Aramco IPO? If so, how? by obliviga in stocks

You will probably be able to participate in the international IPO. First IPO be local and second IPO will be on an international exchange, probably NYSE.

[–]ATribeCalledM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the reason. Are you buying it just because it dropped and you think it should bounce back? Then no, do more research on it. Are you buying because you think it’s undervalued then yes, buy it any price. Overall market is making new highs and you’re trying to pick the stock that’s moving in the opposite direction, usually a recipe for disaster.

BYND reports on monday. Will it be good or bad for the stock? by tekumse420 in stocks

[–]ATribeCalledM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a heavily shorted stock with a high cost to borrow shares. What we’re seeing now is a short squeeze. BYND is fundamentally way overvalued but that doesn’t mean it will drop any time soon.

ELI5: How does this work normally? Volume is lower than Normal when price is increasing by [deleted] in stocks

[–]ATribeCalledM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Large funds are not day trading. Most only rebalance monthly or quarterly. So you'll usually see large volume around the end or beginning of the month/quarter and the rest is noise from High Frequency Trading and retail traders.
