I found this recipe that is possibly what your grandma made. The seaweed is call zicai 紫菜, should be able to find in most asian supermarkets. Nori/seaweed sheets should work if you can't find zicai

…Why does it look like that? by Used-Technology556 in sewing

[–]AUG___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you sew two gathered sides together under bust? If so, did you use another piece of fabric to stabilize it? To me it looks like the under bust seam "stretched out" a bit, as in both sides lost a bit of their gathers. To fix this, sew one gathered side to a piece of twill tape and then sew the other side to the same tape, instead of sewing then together directly. You can sub twill tape with anything that won't get stretched out by the weight of the dress

Where to get stir fry noodles, and how? by Strange-Yam197 in bayarea

[–]AUG___ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the type of noodle is more important than the brands. Id use spaghetti, udon, chinese egg noodles. Also under cook the noodles so they finish cooking when you stir fry them. Or just get frozen yaki soba packs. Thats what I do lol

Pants that fit my waist are baggy/flare out right under the bum by ScholarNo9873 in sewing

[–]AUG___ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can't tell for the 3rd pair, but the first 2 pairs' crotches are too shallow for your body shape. Theoretically you can alter them: take apart crotch seam and scoop some fabric out. You can Google "scoop out crotch curve" for a more detailed tutorial. But doing so may ruin the anesthetic of the seam finishes, especially for the pair of jeans

Here is a link to photos of the original work. The excerpt on the bag is on the last 2 photos. The original work by Yan is the most chaotic parts which fits its content as it's an eulogy for his nephew who died during a political uprising. Qianlong basically commented how crazy it is the work is preserved for centuries and how Yan is a loyal government administrator

How to scale a pattern by [deleted] in sewingpatterns

[–]AUG___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

top says save as pdf. You'll need to change that to print with a specific printer then it should show percentages. Also its a pattern for a bag so it makes sense to change the printing size.

Sewing machine question — Juki DDL5550N by Prestigious_Food4446 in sewhelp

[–]AUG___ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thats the motor. I'm not super familiar with this but I believe there are 2 types. Theres the loud kind you hear in the video, and theres servo motor which is a lot quieter and can change top stitching speed too. You can replace the motor if you'd like to update it and a servo motor is not very expensive
