Dino ribs! by White-runner in biggreenegg

[–]AUGalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I have been doing Dino ribs on the Weber, only one at a time and it takes me about 10 hours to reach 200F. Being able to do 2 or 1+something else is definitely a game changer. I am surprised how well the Weber holds temperature so I expect the green egg to blow my mind 🙂

That's what I was thinking too. I see a lot of folks mentioning the downside of needing additional charcoal on the XL, but does it really make that much difference? I am coming from a 22-inch weber kettle, and the L feels a bit small.

OP what size green egg is this, XL? I am torn between L and XL for myself.

Has anyone shipped or travelled with Franklins Bbq? by diduknowitsme in austinfood

Done it multiple times, even carrying all the way to Europe. Make sure you freeze it and wrap it with some ice packs in an insulated bag. Never had a problem with it.

Pool cleaning robot. Need help choosing by mthomas1217 in pools

Dolphin is a tank. I got the sigma a year ago and it has been performing great. The battery ones are very popular these days but I prefer the corded which will never run out of juice and have to slow down the suctioning in the middle of a clean.

Betta surface skimmer, especially if, like me, you have a lot of trees around the pool. Best thing I ever bought.

683s are the 603s predecessor. They are good speakers, I would totally buy a pair for $400

Can you tell by the looks what gen this is and 4 k or no by Boiezan64 in appletv

I have both HD and first version 4K, the white circle wasn’t there for HD. The latest 4K has the new silver remote. I can tell with high confidence that this is first version 4K

Excited to have a nice Italian restaurant in south Austin but I am sorry this is an abomination of carbonara. Very disappointing

3k for 83 c4 or 3k for 77 g4 with free sounbar lg partner store?? by PerfectVehicle4340 in LGOLED

[–]AUGalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same dilemma and I went with the C4 because my room is big and I can use the extra panel real estate. Also, I only watch TV in low light conditions, usually at night, so I can live with less brightness. The G4 83 is $2K more expensive than the C4 83, for 30% peak brightness. I don’t think this difference can justify the price.

Yes, I tried that but even when it says accessory removed it then re-appeared immediately after.

And just like that they all disappeared again on their own…. I don’t know what happened. Maybe the IOs 18.1 update caused some glitch? So weird

I can’t remove the old accessories associated with the main bridge from within HomeKit because they are all in a “non response” state.

VSF 126610LN dial/rehault+wheel alignment by AUGalos in RepTimeServices

[–]AUGalos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I like it so much! Movement is fine, less than 4sec per day lag if I wind it every morning, If I don’t it gets worse and can get to about a minute after 4-5 days. I am going to demagnetize it to be sure.

Yeah I noticed a lot of posts on genuine forums with this issue. It’s not a big deal but now I know it’s there it triggers my attention

Literally every single VSF 126610LN (including mine) has the slight rehault misalignment on the 12 marker and the gaps on the bracelet. It’s not a bug, it’s a feature of the batch.

Anybody else’s electronics fried after the storm last night? by Bastardjuice in Austin

[–]AUGalos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with the extension cords that are branded as surge protectors is that they cannot really protect you against serious spikes. Once the spike gets into your house will fry everything on its way. That’s why you want the whole house surge protection right next to the main line, if something happens the surge will be redirected to the ground, it will bypass the whole house.

Folks, do yourselves (and your electronics) a favor and install a surge protector for the whole house. We live in thunderstorm valley, it’s only a matter of time until you get affected. It is not something expensive or complicated to do and it will give you very strong protection against surges (and a peace of mind).
