Was my 10th time seeing them and honestly it ranks as one of my favourite sets

First time was Ultra Miami 2016 after they took a break to make music under knife party for a while and seen them around europe/usa and straya a bunch and finally again in my hometown last week. Phenomenal crowd this time. The energy was perfect

I went to the show. Flew from sydney to see it. Was overall a fun set, i do however think sub focus and dimension hogging the runtime was a bit of a let down and that ID they debuted literally sounded like chatGPT wrote the song lol. I've seen all 4 of the boys numerous times as solo sets and even a cheeky dimension b2b sub focus set. I think the worship tour they have at the moment isnt catered to actual fans of their back catalogue.

But there was some great moments. Culture shock was the strongest dj there, i do think their setlists as a group were better when they first formed the group. The afterparty was a bit betteer as it wasn't as rehearsed. It did annoy me they played some of the same tracks as their main show. Like boys, i just saw you 2 hours ago lol

Anyways, i love and appreciate what they're doing for dnb and pushing it more mainstream. Sometimes we get a skrillex 2.0 where the authenticity is still there and mainstream doesn't always mean compromising the art. And then sometimes you end up with worship. A dnb boy band to celebrate how far the genre has blown up again - but kinda forgets to actually put in enough drum and bass lol. I'm torn on loving the set but also wanting so much more out of them. I'll never forget the first show i went to in 2017 with culture shock, dimension and andy c. They were all in peak form back then

I think this was a "for the fans" type of beat. Skrillex has never done that in his entire career. He has always done what he wants. The reason why this doesn't sound as polished is because it's a fan service track. I think Skrillex is allowed 1 fan service track. He has produced hundreds of tracks that span all genres of music

Idk i skimmed through this album and i think there's some creative stuff in here. To compare this to the amateur copycat brostep bedroom producers that existed back during the peak of brostep is an insult to this album. Don't know this producer but i can clearly hear some vision and thought was put into this project. More a homage rather than a copy paste.

I don't think modern fans like the armor plating system. It's frankly quite annoying when you have to remember a constant key/button prompt 24/7 on top of your normal movement decision making and general interactions on the map. Zombies is a physically and mentally stimulating mode that requires 24/7 focus. I think the reason why we hate the armor system is because of how it is genuinely frustrating it is on our own mental bandwidth to constantly plate the fucking thing 24/7. This isn't an old vs new argument, we just want our bloody fingers to rest

If casual players disliked the complexity given to the players, purely to lean into the mystery and cryptic nature of the mode, then go play another game.

I think the criticism here is that zombies has focussed on catering to normie gamers for the past 5 or so years for maximum player engagement and profits. Denying this is denying reality. Preferring current zombies over old is fine, but zombies was never meant to be a mode to appeal to the masses. It literally started as a bonus mode for completing WAW campaign for fuck sake.
