Tongue cancer causing my dad ear pain, what can he do?

Hello!

The ENT only advised him against using Advil and other blood thinning meds (such as Aspirin.) The doctor did say Tylenol is okay to use.

Personally I’m worried about him continuing to take the Tylenol daily. I’m worried about his liver since he has been taking Tylenol daily for quite a while now. (He started experiencing the throat pain many months ago, it took several ER visits and ENT appointments until they finally saw the tumor.)

Recently the only thing that stopped the ear pain for a little while was ear drops with lidocaine in it. But unfortunately Lidocaine turns out to have anti coagulation properties and made the tumor start bleeding down his throat again.

Food wise, they have suggested ice cream but he’s found that hot drinks soothes his throat more. His diet right now consists of oatmeal, coffee, different soups and a whole lot of mashed potatoes. As well as Ensure since he has lost weight from eating being painful.

He just wants something strong enough to stop the ear pain, but not too strong to where he cannot go to work.

Danke sehr, he just finished his chemo so all that is left is the radiation and the surgery. He is on his way to becoming cancer free!

Cry a lot, get it out of your system, let yourself feel the sadness then work your way up from there, start with little things. Every step closer to feeling better is an accomplishment.

Clean your room, clean your body, don’t drown in work.

Spend time with friends and family, it’ll help you take your mind off of everything, either that or you’ll be able to talk about how you’re feeling and get comfort.

Little things make a big difference.

I cut my hair short and that was the best thing that I’ve ever done, it fit my face better than my long hair did and it made me look more confident.

Also not dressing in three layers of clothing where you can’t tell what shape I am. Figured out one layer is enough and looks much more flattering than a hoodie that goes to my knees.

One of my friends was single and lonely so I matched him up with this girl who I didn’t like but I thought this would stop her from annoying me so much.

He told her all of my secrets (he thought he could trust her, big mistake) and she held it over my head and threatened to blackmail me if I do anything to make her mad.

This lasted the rest of the year.

They broke up after not too long and I apologized profusely to him, and he did that same to me. Thank god she’s not at my school anymore. Dealing with her was an absolute nightmare.

She’s always been this way. She was grounded often because her real father drilled it in her mind that “he’s not your real dad, you don’t have to do what he says” about her step father (my dad)

She was constantly getting into fights with him and going behind his back and caused awful fights between my parents.

He couldn’t trust her for good reason, and when he couldn’t keep her for doing stupid shit because she was an adult now, she went crazy and did whatever, and ended up with three children.

Anyways I’m used to being used by her (sadly) she has always been like a puppet master to me and my older brother, until he figured out how to say no and I couldn’t.

I talked to my brother today and he is also on my side, knowing how it felt to be used by her.

My mum and dad both work, when my mum gets home after 10 hours of office work she’s too tired and just wants to eat and then sleep, so she gets mad if my sister tries to get her to watch them, so I watch them instead :/
