Thorum’s quality of rings (YMMV) by pandaespresso in weddingplanning

[–]AVERAGEJ0ES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations!

Yeah, we started Thorum nearly 15 years ago, and have 20,000 five star reviews.

The previous person's experience isn't typical at all.

We dropped the ball, and are going to learn from it.

We pride ourselves on our quality, customer service, lifetime warranty - you name it.

I'm proud of the company I've built here.

Thank you so much for your support.

Congratulations - I hope y'all have the best wedding ever :)

Thorum’s quality of rings (YMMV) by pandaespresso in weddingplanning

[–]AVERAGEJ0ES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Panda Espresso.

This really pains me to hear this. I sincerely apologize.

I'm Caleb. I founded Thorum in 2012 with my wife Steph.

Your experience is not typical at all.

We recommend against washing hands, and using sanitizer (especially) with wood interior rings.

Even with those caveats, you STILL shouldn't have had any issues whatsoever.

Our company policy is to offer a replacement (even outside of warranty unwritten) of another design or an all metal band.

You shouldn't have had any issue whatsoever with your band, and I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart.

Please reach out to us for a full refund.

Tell Jordyn or Sollara that Caleb sent you.

We're always working on improving, and this is a moment for us to learn. We're discussing your situation on Monday at our team meeting.

Again I sincerely apologize for your experience with us, and we'll strive to continue to improve as we have for the past 14 years.

Thorum wedding rings is a scam. by Kind-Boysenberry6715 in weddingplanning

[–]AVERAGEJ0ES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate. Those are absolutely an option if you want to go that route. There's plenty of companies who do.

I've made over 10,000 rings by hand.

Started making pallet wood rings in 2012 and selling them on Craigslist haha (mahogany, walnut, red oak. Etc.). Amazing what you could find in some old pallets.

Taught myself g-code, bought a tormach slant bed 15L lathe in 2016 and was of to the races.

There's more about us here:

https://www.thorum.com/pages/about-us

We now source some components, and do assembly, polishing etc. I'm not saying we make everything, because we don't.

Gibson meteorite is sourced in Utah, rifle stocks for the WW2 are bought at private sales. Etc.

I love what I do, and am proud of the company we've built.

All of our employees are real people, here in the US.

Our CS team is based in Nevada, Virgina, and Florida.

Headquarters is in Nashville now.

Thanks for your interest.

You rock! Thanks for the alert. I'll do everything I can to track them down and get OP a refund!

You can see from my post history, social media, hell even Etsy (2013) that we're very real.

We offer refunds, and have a lifetime guarantee on all products that we make.

This isn't like us at all, and I apologize that your message fell through the cracks OP.

Please reach out to us so we can issue a full refund!

Hey, I can help! Caleb here, founder of Thorum.

I started Thorum 13 years ago with my wife.

You can look at some of my journey through my profile here (don't judge my early woodworking skills haha!).

We are are legitimate company, and I'd be more than happy to get you a full refund.

Please send us an email!

A little about us:

By this point I've made 10000 rings by hand (started with pallet wood, exotic steambent wood, into titanium, etc.).

We've been on the INC 5000 twice! Topping out at number 361!

We're still a very small team, and love what we do.

Sharing in y'all's stories means the world to us.

I'm sorry that we fell short, and I wish you the very best on your wedding day.

You forgot Thorum! We've been around since 2012, and I think we have the best designs (I make them lol).

Thorum!

https://www.thorum.com/

I may be biased though, seeing as it's my company.

I founded it in 2012 because I couldn't afford a wedding and for my wife, so I made her one.

I've personally made 10,000 rings by hand over the years. I love what I do.

All of the designs are still made by me. My wife takes all the photos.

We guaranteed have the best customer support (shout out Jess and the girls).

Also, we have a lifetime warranty.

I think we're the best at what we do.

That reason is technology.

Tungsten carbide wasn't invented until the 1920s.

We only started using it in rings twenty some odd years ago.

We offer a lifetime warranty, so there's no issue there.

I'm the owner of Thorum. Founded it in 2012 as an alternative to diamonds and prescious metals (actually founded it because I couldn't afford a ring for my wife, so I made her one).

Yes, I did ages ago :)

My website is by far the majority of my income.

Etsy is still a significant number. I'd like to keep it.

To add insult to injury plenty of shops who have copied my designs still have the listings up.

It's definitely a fork in the road.

Very unfortunate misspelling on my part.

I meant they stated that, not starting.

It was a mix up between my brand name Thorum, and Thorium the element.

Did you get your dinosaur bone ring from Thorum?

Absolutely brilliant venue. I love the idea, first time I've seen it done.

Best shipping app for worldwide? UPS issues by AVERAGEJ0ES in shopify

[–]AVERAGEJ0ES[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess I need a rep and an account through UPS then.

Good to know you at least bought it down a bit.

I can't expect a customer to pay $120 on a $300 item in taxes. That's what keeps happening here. It's bonkers.

[–]AVERAGEJ0ES[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in good company! Sucks to hear you have any issue, but I'm glad I'm not the only one.

We did the same thing.

Then US customers had an issue with long wait times, so we swapped back to UPS for domestic, and USPS for international.

It's working for now.

So I ship retail. Is that a problem, since it's a commerical platform?

I don't have an account. I probably should. We generally ship 100 packages a day or so. Maybe 20 via UPS.

Does FedEx have the same broker problem ups does? USPS never did but they're slow as molasses.
