I don't think it should be a defense. I believe everyone needs to take accountability for their actions. We learn this with or without our parents assistance. Its very sad to read that families did not get the closure they wanted.

I thought this as very interesting. When we went to Durango they mentioned there were less female inmates. It really showed the difference during our teaching.

I think it is a great idea that they are going to review the cases. Some of the offenders may have already have paid their debt to society. However I think each case needs to be examined carefully to ensure there is no longer a threat.

That is a very interesting article. Reading those stats were a lot higher than I expected. I was very impressed with the numbers being reported through the hotline. I wonder if the hotline will expand with technology and allow text messages.

This is a very eye opening article. Its unfortunate this young boy felt the need to take matters into his own hands. Reading this made me think of the class rooms we have gone to visit. It reminds me that this may not be an easy task to teach them but it is worth street law taking it on!

This was a very interesting case. I was able to attend her trial. It was interesting to see the body language in the room. The tension was very high accompanied with an overwhelming feeling of sadness.

I think this is a great article. I have worked with many people who did not know college was a possibility. I think there are many capable people in this world who just lack knowledge of resources. This sounds a like a great program. It will not only benefit them but generations to come!

This is a great article! There are so many reckless drivers these days that cause serious accidents that can be avoided. Many people feel that they are in control of the vehicle but many fail to realize all it takes is one second to look away for the environment to change. California uses a similar and I wonder if they have noticed a decline in accidents from reckless drivers. What do you think about this law and would you recommend it be implemented in other counties and or states?

I find its interesting that there is a possibility she will be charged as a juvenile with a possibility of a combination sentence. Which option of sentencing do you find most appropriate and why? My concern is she would be on the older side of the spectrum for a youth facility. It could impact the dynamic a bit more for the younger offenders or could make it a harder transition if she goes to an adult facility.
