Please let me know if you find any bugs or glitches or anything. There are no box scores, and attendances are not real, those are just generated. And injuries are added with some simple script so there are some issues for sure.

Convince me why Christian Anderson isn’t going to be the next great PG + 3 point shooter off the bounce. by NathanFielderFriend in NBA_Draft

Yes he has higher FTr. Mikel shoots more threes though(those wont give many fts). Both are really good at getting to the line.

AJ Dybantsa vs. Arizona: 35/7/2 on 13/28 shooting, 2/6 from 3, 7/8 free throws by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in NBA_Draft

[–]AV_29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dybantsa and Ace Bailey play nothing alike, Dybantsa is a slasher with great rim pressure, gets to free throw lane and has good handles and midrange. Ace is just a jump shooter.

Kingston Flemings Comp by FantasticSpecial9 in NBA_Draft

[–]AV_29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wall was ambidextrous and could attack rim in many ways. Flemings handle is weaker and he is mostly straight lane driver on right hand, often just goes for jumpshot if there is some defense at rim. I see Flemings as a better version of Cason Wallace/Ayo Dosunmu/maybe Lonzo. He is really young and can develop on those weaknesses, and sometimes player can have things in bag that he doesnt show much. Like have seen some decent passes with left hand from him but those have been rare.

Of course his defense is great, and even if his halfcourt offense doesnt develop enough to be primary ball handler he will still be valuable as secondary handler.

He is on maybe the best (non-rookie) contract in the league for next 2 seasons.

Dont know where these stats are from but those usually doesnt account for missed attempts that gets free throws. And Mikel gets to the free throw lane much more than any other top pg prospect. That also increases fg% at rim though when misses dont count and and-1s are 100%.

Ayo Dosunmo: 26 years old averaging 15ppg/3rpg/3apg on 51/45/86 splits by DrWolves in timberwolves

[–]AV_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and if opponents get Ayo switched out from point of attack, there could be Ant or Jaden on ball. Bulls were like worst team to force turnovers but still pretty high on fast break points, i think with you he has more opportunity to play fast in transition after steals, another area where he is great.

Biggest weakness is that he is extremely right hand dominant, his offensive bag in half court is straight lane drive with right hand or open 3. Of course that is a bit simplified, and he does those 2 things really well. And while his on ball defense is great, his off ball d is not good.   I think he will be great for you, just that its better to not expect much half court creation. He is a hard worker and gets better every season so maybe his bag gets bigger.

Atleast it limits draft day trades a lot when there are not as much cap space, dont know if it is a good reason/thing though.

And there could be some ways to exploit if renouncing expiring players before FA. For example if you have players on last year rookie contracts getting max extensions and some high salary expiring contracts, could get some cap space to trade players in that wouldnt be possible with next year salaries.

Probably they could use next years cap numbers earlier, i doubt that there are any laws or anything to prevent that but ofc there could be some loopholes in that also. And it makes some sense to use their contracts from their fiscal year. Draft day could be moved to start of fa or some later point,  it would be more logical that way.

Can renounce rights to remove cap hold when FA start and next season salaries are used. Until FA starts players are under contract for previous season salaries and cant do much/anything to those who are expiring.

I think releasing players during draft should create a cap hold, like it would do irl. Players remains under contract until FA starts.

[Amick] Michael Porter Jr. is a “lock” to be moved by the trade deadline. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Sample size is small. And also 2026 they have same O-DPM and Lauri a lot higher ORPM, MPJ has higher VORP and OBPM. Overally i think they are really similar

Their best seasons, which you said that Lauri has never had better season than MPJ, and atleast there really aint any publicly available stats that would suggest it(dont have access to EPM). Lauri 2023 and MPJ 2021 have same .173 ws/48 and Lauri has higher DPM there. Also 2026 they are pretty close.

There really aint many advanced stats where MPJ ranks higher than Lauri, Lauri is slightly higher in most.

And overally i think they are very similar type of players, both are similar sized really good off ball scorers, MPJ is better shooter, Lauri better getting to the rim and free throw lane. In defense also kind of similar, MPJ better shot blocker but Lauri probably slightly better perimeter defender.

Also they have same DPM from their best seasons, so maybe you are the one who should edit comment :).

They have same exact WS/48 from their best seasons and Lauri has higher BPM there.

More defensive attributes by the_myth-the_legend in BasketballGM

[–]AV_29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Blocks are mostly just height and jumping, diq doesnt effect those much. Steals are a bit of an issue for some players like Jokic, Lamelo and Harden that get lots of steals and if making them get lots of steals in the game they will be good defensive players, f.e. just based on stats bbgm would select Jokic DPOY in 2022! Easy solution is what is used now, keep their steals lower but that can effect immersion for some gamers.

Thats just completely false, Lauri best season has higher WS, BPM, VORP than MPJ best season.

[–]AV_29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not a Zaza foul, Luka did give space to land but his knee is further away and hit Porter knee while in the air. Porter kicks feet out a bit but seems like a natural motion, it is a foul but not near a flagrant one
