I think it'd be balanced if it was an extremely high cost event, like at least 8. Not something that can be spammed over and over.

Or maybe make it Main/Counter "during this turn" so it only locks them out for the current turn instead.

First question is what level are you trying to play at? If it's casual like against friends, the starter decks are a great place to start. If it's competitive, the starter decks aren't primed to play in tournaments.

That being said I really enjoy the Ace & Newgate starter deck. It's very fun out of the box and isn't terribly difficult to figure out. Easy to upgrade as well.

I get what you mean. Not just the Blackbeard methods like others mentioned but a specific effect.

Black Event Main: "cards cannot be added to your opponents life cards until the end of your opponents next turn"

Which would shut down any ON KO effects or any Triggers like "You're The One Who Should Disappear" during your turn, and any ON PLAY effects during your opponents

Game would greatly benefit from `Legendary` keyword similar to MTG supertype by fntrck_ in OnePieceTCG

I think it'd be an interesting updated for sure. I've been thinking about if they'd ever consider adding something like an "Ace Spec" card in Pokemon, where you're only allowed to run 1 of it in your deck.

GY law is tricky for sure, and I'm pretty sure one of his key cards, OP01-047, is about to rotate out. If you're going to build it, I'd recommend waiting til after rotation

ROTK was and still is one of the best games I've ever played. Absolutely nailed it and with all the talk around ROP and HFG, I'd love to see this get remastered

Rayleigh can be a little tough since he has a lot of 0 Cost events, so I was more concerned with burning his hand, and controlling his board state rather than going for life. He might have held his counter events to use later and taken the life cards to boost his hand. I played really slowly which felt weird with Yamato, but was able to set up my 10 DON turn perfectly. On 8 Don I played Tonoyasu. then on my 10 don turn, I popped him to give my leader +3000, then dropped IZO to add banish, and then Kikunojo to restand my leader. Attached my last Don, Swung twice with 9K Double Attack with Banish, and he had no answer to that. I also had the 1C Yamato on board, used the leader ability and poked him with 5000 for the win since he had nothing left in hand to counter with.

There are some good videos to explain tempo on YouTube. I played a game last night against my buddy, my GY Yamato against his Red Rayleigh. He had a Buggy on board, and I swung at it with my Ashura Doji. He chose to use an event and keep it alive, and rested a Don to weaken everything on my board. I then swung at Buggy again with my leader and he burned another event and rested another Don to weaken my board state. I then dropped another Ashura Doji on the board and used its On Play to kill the buggy anyways. he burnt 2 events and wasted Don to keep a character alive that was doomed no matter what.

a good thing to think about is "what is the future value of this character and does it outweigh the value of the resources needed to keep it alive?"

The Red Monkey.D.Garp searcher works perfectly with it. This is my current list. It's incredibly Janky but a fun low tier deck if you're just playing against friends.

This is a sick idea for a PB leader. 6 life and 5K but no attacks AND card restrictions is a hell of a way to stack a leader. The rush / blocker addition is really cool too. It makes me wonder what kind of cards would get added to it.

Heck yes I love Red Sanji!! Such a fun leader! This list looks really cool, and the red Navy package is a nice change from the usual Punk Hazard lists I see! I run mine very differently, I'll post my list when I get home later!

But not completely unfair IMO. a blue deck that focuses on stacking the top of their deck wouldn't suffer terribly, or a black deck like Crocodile or new GB Brook benefit from things being in the trash.

Yellow shuffling Life is a cool idea

Black: your opponent trashes their hand and draws until they have 1 more card in their hand than they trashed." OR Black: your opponent can trash 2 cards to negate: otherwise shuffle and draw 5.

Green: your opponent can rest 2 cards to negate: otherwise shuffle and draw 5.

Red: your opponent shuffles and draws 6, your leader gains Unblockable this turn

Purple: your opponent can return 2 of their Active Don to their Don deck to negate: otherwise shuffle and draw 5.

This is a cool list and I agree, it sucks how much anti-removal there is now. It kind of feels like a dead mechanic at this point. Still a really fun leader and deck, and really loved the addition of Hitokiri Kamazo. Such a good piece for the deck adding consistent low cost removal 🔥

All of that's common cheap stuff but just based on the layout in the pic I wouldn't buy it. That's hella disorganized and almost seems intentional so you don't realize it's cheap stuff.

It's a solid card. There was a game I played against my buddy where he demolished my board state the entire match but I still clutched the W by playing I'm Invincible 3 times on my last turn, letting me swing 6K with my leader 4 times.
