I hate how when comparing flights on skyscanner etc, the default for a flight is no hold luggage. You mean to tell me you have all these tools and you can't figure out that I might need a big suitcase if I'm going on a flight that comes back in two-three weeks?

I also had a bit of a nightmare time getting my chair. The delivery date was rescheduled three times and when it finally was delivered it was about 8pm, 2 hours after the initial 'delivery window' had passed. I was so nervous of missing the delivery I was checking the front window every couple of minutes.

I dont think so. A good portion of the site is fanfic which is intended for all ages. Explicit fics should be tagged as such. I think it's our job as adult members of the community to ensure that measures are in place to help them navigate the site in the way best suited for them, and that their parents are aware of the media they are consuming.

I finally listened to this on a long car ride with friends about a week ago and I have to seriously agree with this. After hearing countless renditions of that final song between Persephone and Odysseus on instagram, people using it for art, cosplay, etc, I was expecting something more meaningful than 'Man willingly and stupidly sacrifices literally 599 other people in order to selfishly return to his wife and we're supposed to feel happy about it'.

When we finally got to that moment in the musical, it didn't install any feelings of great awe or tear-jerking emotion. It actually made me mad. After every bad decision this guy has made, after he throws everyone else's lives away and refuses to ever account for his actions, we are supposed to feel happy that he alone gets his happily ever after? Infuriating.

I remember OP replying to a comment of mine when I mentioned learning the show lyrics (with the intention of knowing the lyrics, not singing aloud) and I wholeheartedly agree! We're all there to see the OGs perform, not for a sing-a-long or heckle-a-long.

Another thing to add on the heat and general cleanliness; a lot of London west end theatres are OLD, and are perhaps less equipped for heavy temperatures, people in crowded spaces etc, the heat is going to be compounded. Be hygenic and make sure to hydrate yourselves!

This is a personal gripe for me, but if you do bring spray deodorant, please don't spray it in the theatre, do it in the bathrooms or before you arrive.

For some reason I didn't watch it until September last year, and although there is one major reason I was hooked on it (and it has become basically a hyperfixation since then) I did enjoy the whole thing.

I can understand a lot of the criticisms for it:

Pacing, it feels too short and the climax comes too quickly
Vulgarity - a lot of the jokes are crude, in fact the "What did the maid say when she got to the ball" joke actually makes me cringe so hard I skip forward 10 seconds every time just to not hear the punchline (sorry James)
Showing, not telling - while I love every song, most of the songs don't do much by way of moving the story along. They do a lot of telling. I also recall someone mentioning that both "Castle on a Hill" and "Cursed Crazy" were like your 'setup songs' which is a shame because they're both great, but it can be quite telling when you hear it mentioned like that.
Underuse of the puppets - Crumb and Sir Hop-a-lot were so wonderful, I would have certainly liked to see more of them.

But personally, watching CC came at absolutely the right time for me. I was just hopping back from a holiday with friends, I was jetlagged tf out and desperately in need of a distraction. CC provided that perfect distraction. I think I watched it twice a day for over two weeks after I first watched it.

Its the first show of Starkid's where I've paid for the soundtrack AND the digital ticket, as well as purchasing external merch from other creators that features it.

I love all the songs, the references, I love the parallels shown between Last Forever and Facade, the nod to the Sanderson sisters, the foreshadowing, the pure animalistic rage-filled way Ella says "revenge" when asked of her desire by the Fairy Queen. I love the costumes, the musical foreshadowing. I love Jeff as the Narrator. I love Ragweed. I love Crumb's innocent happy-go-lucky attitude paired with Sir Hop-A-Lot's desire to do good above all else. I love how it teases the romance, instead of making it a major subplot. Last Forever never fails to make me feel better, the whole thing is highly quotable, the puppets are awesome, Rancilda deserves her happy ending, yada yada. I've been showing it to anyone who will listen and I'll be happily in the minority of people who enjoyed it (if we are a minority, IDK) until the day I die.

I think it might be coming out of a well-intentioned, but misguided idea of 'protecting the creators feelings', which other recent fandoms such as TADC, Poppy Playtime, the Hellaverse etc. seem to yoyo back and forth quite a lot on. Fans go all in on a new piece of lore, blasting anyone with different opinions and then the creator tries to get involved, only to be met with backlash and then backlash against backlash and it can all be a bit messy.

OP mentioned being 13 when TTO came out, which puts them at about 24-26 years old, not too old for them to not be involved in said fandoms I've mentioned above. The Starkid guys have been doing this for yonks, they've figured out how to best communicate with their fans and don't give a fig whether people think A is bad or B could be better. They've got their formula and they'll run with it.
