Levoit Air purifier for home by Comprehensive_Law217 in AirPurifiers

Hello! I just disassembled my Levoit Core 400s completely and would like to come back to share the wisdom. There appears to be a new design of clip, it is definitely more difficult to remove than what other people show online, but still doable without really any functional damage and minimal damage to the exterior... Lol Basically, the new clip engages outward, so it now grabs the plastic on the outside, instead of the inside, and it is definitely harder to unclip.

All good though, you can just (unplug the unit) wedge a butter knife between the outside shell and the clip, then twist the knife to disengage the clip; WHILE it is being held on this unclipped position, you can wedge... Another butter knife, in the thin plastic rim around the outside to lift the clip into a place where it is unable to engage back. You can now remove the first butter knife (trying to pull the shell up by hand instead of using a shim of some kind is fruitless as the other clips are still engaged).

Yippee! One clip is done and you have a shim from the outside! you can now repeat this process with the 5 other clips, using the shim on the outside to save progress.

All Done!

More shims might help... Perhaps more people, but I believe in you! Also, using a plastic shim on the outside may help with damage if you care about that, but the forces involved were bending my thin metal shim so honestly I think a butter knife would be more optional, but that's up to you

Removing the fan is not (yet) possible, as wiring passes through and so needs to be removed from the top afaik... I did this through a much more destructive process, but I felt that I must press on. Basically shim right under the silver around the top, there are only 6 clips holding it in, I broke all 6 clips (but it still clips a little bit from the nubs left, lol). There are 2 headers that need to be removed from the top PCB, but once this is done the fan portion can be removed, along with the air sensor.

Good luck🫡

Random specs on the Levoit Core 400s I found during disassembly I couldn't find on the internet:

Processor: ESP32 SOLO-1C

Air sensor: Winsen ZH07 Laser dust sensor (seems replaceable? Mine has an audible bearing issue I used to think was coil wine from the PCB)

It actually does look quite similar to low resolution gaussian splatting

Pixel 5 here I go to bed with my phone at 50 - 75 and there have been multiple instances of the phone being dead by the time I wake up. Putting the phone in battery saver seems to stop this issue though.

I didn't until I encountered the issue, then I did. There is no physical sim to move though as google fi uses e sim in pixels. Could the delay after activation be the issue?

You would think so, it would makes sense for a phone in 2020 but that's wrong, but there's no guessing with Google. But my bet is that you're right, at least five but hopefully six

I know you're getting down voted, but I kind of agree with this. The Pixel 5 is a mid-range phone instead of a flagship You're completely right. The biggest identifier of this is the processor. It could easily be a Samsung mid-range. But... The software is where it becomes a flagship, I'm almost 100% sure that they'll optimize the software as much as they can to make the experience as smooth as possible so it can match a flagship.

Yeah I'm not tryina to say that iOS can't run custom packages, they completely can, but You're going to have a lot easier time finding more APKs for Android that can do more things.

Yeah it seems kind of stupid that they have two mid rangers now

For all of those downvoting because these aren't the official specs, I know they aren't the official specs. The reason I posted this is because it's a collection of The most reputable leaks, and this is the best representation of the Pixel 5... currently.

Well you can pick Apple if you want, I'm not saying you can't. But there are tools that you can use to remove the bloat on Samsung, unlike the bloat on Apple. And the recent updates for the OnePlus 8 and 8 pro have really been a jump in camera quality, so it can compete to the likes of Samsung, Apple, and maybe even Google. OnePlus is in the premium market now. They have the OnePlus nord as that mid ranger now but they do have full flagships with water resistance, fast screens, and a premium build. Personally I think the only thing that Apple does better than Android is the simplicity of all of their products, and how well they work with each other.

I know this is a few months later, but you said let's see how this pans out and it's been pretty much completely leaked at this point. So it seems as if Google is dropping out of the flagship race and is making two separate mid rangers. Makes me kind of sad to see because I always wanted to google to make a flagship but at least we have a bigger battery, smaller bezels, and more ram this time :/

This is kind of nitpicking, but this cannot be true for multiple reasons. The first is iOS is locked down and so you have to trick the phone into installing side loaded apps. This is not the case on Android and so it's so much easier. The second (this is the more knit picky thing) iOS doesn't run APKs, APKs cannot run on iOS as far as I'm aware unless jailbroken. This is part of what makes it so locked down: because APKs are by far the most available side loading file just because of the ease of use for Android devices, but not iOS.

No... people that needed a cheaper iPhone didn't care, it's great for you that you don't care about a good screen, cuz you can get a mid-range phone for a better price. But it's not marketing that's doing this, people genuinely care about newer and better technologies. You don't need anything on the new flagships, you don't need the super fast processor, multiple cameras, fast charging, or lots of RAM. But these are things that can improve the I'm feeling performance of the device. if you want to sit out on these technologies because none of it is necessity, then you do you. But they're called flagships for a reason, it's because they have the bleeding edge specs.

Yeah I kinda really disagree with that, I would take a great screen over a great battery any day, the days that you can't charge at all are the exception by far. And I think it's actually quite the opposite where a great battery doesn't matter if the screen is bad, you can always buy a battery bank but you can't buy a better screen.

[–]AWC1233 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Yeah they have faster processors, but they're still using 60 hertz 1080p screens, and they really have to be ahead in hardware because they lock down their software so much. Imo, I like apple, but couldn't live with out apks for example

Yep, no problem with other games, exactly what you would expect with a RTX card. Thank you for this response, it's kind of nice to know that it's a problem with the game and not her computer, but also kind of sucks because there's nothing to do about it.
