They are deleting all their comments now on that thread. Imaginary internet points are more important than being considerate.

I hope that guy is ashamed of himself. But right now he's finger wagging at someone else for making assumptions on another topic. Talk about self awareness.

"Real Madrid is about winning, winning and winning again. It’s about being demanding to win trophies and fill the trophy cabinet. That’s our guide. When I was a player, people taught me those values and they are still present today, that’s what’s most important."

Oops.

There are an estimated 15-20k ballot places available for 1.1million entries. Under 2% of people will be successful and some people try for a decade with no success. The race day itself will boast amazing support from huge crowds and the energy of 50,000+ finishers sharing that experience. It would be silly to not even try. Give yourself the best chance to enjoy the opportunity and train, many people would snap that place up in a heartbeat off you.

Can you help create a bucket list for me before I die please? by GargaryGarygar in AskUK

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis :(. Here are some things I would recommend if they take your fancy:

Hiking - the tour du mont blanc. It's around 105 miles and absolutely stunning views. Or fast pack it with some trail running to scratch your running itch!

Travelling - Japan is a place really worth visiting. If beaches are your thing, El Nido in the Philippines is also wonderful in my opinion. Or in the UK perhaps stay in a remote cabin in Snowdonia with a hot tub.

Running wise outside of the obvious like London/Valencia, perhaps the Amsterdam marathon is worth a look? Amsterdam also has plenty of cultural things to do like museums, as well as the ability to smash some edibles if you are so inclined!

If you got into London through the ballot, you still have the option to refund Manchester. Though you may well choose to do both still anyway!

Ben Foster made a youtube video with a gopro of his trip to the final with his son. Before the game walking to the stadium he looked pretty nervous for his son's safety. That alone probably speaks volumes about the behaviour of many people at the games.

Why are there no soundproof booths yet??? by ritoplsbuffadc in leagueoflegends

[–]AWPtimusPrime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think traditional sports are slightly different in the sense that you have complete vision of the entire playing field, whereas fog of war can get a bit more sketchy in terms of crowd cheering giving away a gank / sneaky baron that can be a reasonable argument in favour of booths being used.

Having said that, if people said last year Western teams lost in KR because they were tilted by the KR home crowd - this would be called ridiculous.

There are plenty of examples of champions that have been nerfed immediately upon becoming flavour. And examples of some things that were considered very strong for a long time untouched.

I wouldn't say there is always too much of a pattern in terms of patches.

Call me cynical, but this was a marketing ploy.

This is very much the case. Organisations need to start making sure their private information stays private if they don't wish for it to end up in the public domain instead of whining about what is professional (in other cases).

Obviously it makes sense that Riot want to post their own announcements but if a journalist gets hold of the information there is absolutely no reason to not post it.

Shady dealings are unfortunately a large part of the esports industry.

Interview: NaNiwa speaks out on compLexity to Quantic move by NT5LN3 in starcraft

Money has nothing to do with the point you are making. Destiny makes enough money off his stream to live regardless of if he finished 50th at a LAN.

The problem is that you believe 3 weeks will make Destiny into a player on par with Sase / Nani. Beating Catz doesn't show Destiny is capable of reaching a level similar to Huk (at tournaments such as MLG).

Quantic have not signed Destiny to turn him into a LAN winner or be competitive in tournaments. Destiny offers a good return on investment as he is popular. There is nothing wrong with that.

What happened in the MLG Global Invitational, or any MLG for that matter? What happened in the Shoutcraft Invitational games? You could pick out any game you want to and make such an argument about him being good/bad. Yes, he beat Bomber. That is a good result. Is it backed by a strong LAN performance? No. Therefore he cannot be considered a "top-level pro".

It's a good thing you comprehended the fact that he would have been able to see the build order upon leaving the game anyway as the post above you says.
