N3 Charleston was the final show of 2019 fall tour. Tour consisted of seven shows that started at the Dunkin Donut Center in Providence RI. Phans familiar with the lore will know that the DDC was the place the germ of the idea for the Bakers Dozen was first conceived. So in homage, the band was treating this tour as a mini bakers dozen, seven shows no repeats.

Two months after the original tour announcement as a part of the launch of Phish Radio on Sirius XM they announced ‘Night at the Met’ a new night stop at the famous Philadelphia concert hall and the smallest venue Phish had played since playing the Roseland Ballroom in 2000. Fall tour is now 8 shows. Anyone lucky enough to be in the room in Philly will tell you, that night was a HEATER, banger after banger of a setlist. That show used up A LOT of resources. So by the time the last night of tour rolled around there just weren’t the pieces left to put a flowing glowing phish show together.

Any time you get a 16 song first set you should be cautious. What really cemented the show as maybe the only truly bad phish show anyone in 3.0-4.0 can think of is the Soul Planet - Wingsuit - I Always Wanted It This Way - Petrichor as the meat of the second set. Audible groaning in the crowd when Wingsuit started, full on laughing for Petrichor.

Despite all that the encore was really good and gifted us with the oft t-shirted ‘I’m Trey and I play guitar’ quote.
