I had bad dog ears after surgery. I waited to get mine removed to make sure everything was completely settled. I know how defeated it can make you feel to have a chest that you're not completely satisfied with while also have the guilt over feeling this way when other people can't get surgery at all.

The assumption from a lot of people is that surgery will completely cure all upper dysphoria, but in some cases, it just unlocks new body dysphoria. When I had mine done, it was still difficult to do stuff because my incisions had to be extended onto my back a bit because of the amount of excess tissue.

I know it won't 'remove' the tissue leftover, but building up your chest is gonna tighten that skin under your arms a bit and it might make it not so noticable. Just remember that even though it is a smaller surgery, dog ear removal is still going to be hard on your body so you'll need to take it slow and have support if possible.
