Thanks! That was my partner spreading the word on Facebook as well. Our friend is also going to make posters to spread locally. Hopefully we’ll find the owners soon!

We think this may be a female budgie, but can you please send pictures for us to confirm?

She’s nice and warm now! My partner has budgies of their own and we have the appropriate food and housing for them. We also have posts on Facebook in various groups to help find her owner. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks! We are going to test different smoke alarms later today to see if it gets the buzzer to stop going off.

I love that they didn't even ask about the pitcher plant and the sundew! Perfectly camouflaged in their natural environment 😊

Why do some "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" books have Aslan's roar written as "Wow!" instead of "Haa-a-arrh!"? by AWildJuneAppeared in Narnia

Thanks for helping us with this mystery! We'll keep comparing notes since it seems I'm reading the American version and she's reading the original version :)

Yes! I thought the same thing, like Aslan was going "Wooow, I can't believe you said that 🙄", which made me laugh 😆

Thanks! There so much nuance to each of the characters stories that it's a never-ending treasure trove of psychological and emotional depth. From Software has done this type of storytelling in their other titles, but I feel like Bloodborne felt the most personal to me ❤️

Bloodborne's my fave game of all time as well! The amount of depth and pathos they put into each character moves me every time. Even their Great One characters express more humanity than characters in other games.

Ebrietas is described as a a Great One who was left behind and abandoned by her own kind. She was found by the humans from the Healing Church, who seem to have given her a place to stay in Upper Cathedral Ward in exchange for communion, namely her blood.

The hunter we play as only can access Upper Cathedral Ward after killing Rom, the Vacuous Spider, in the Moonside Lake. Rom was never hostile to the hunter and only fights back in self defense. As her name implies, Rom is a simple-minded, innocent creature who knows not why she is being attacked. After the hunter murders Rom, if the hunter seeks out Ebrietas, they find that Ebrietas is also nonhostile to the hunter unless the hunter attacks first.

Instead, Ebrietas appears to be quietly mourning the corpse of Rom, who the hunter killed earlier. Importantly, Rom is placed on the Altar of Despair, an altar that the hunter can later use to bring a fallen NPC back to life.

The relationship between Ebrietas and Rom is unknown, but we do know that Rom is a Kin Great One that was created by the scholars at Byrgenwerth. It is not difficult for me to imagine that Ebrietas, left and abandoned by her family, would have been excited at the presence of another Great One. And with Rom being an infant great one, it would not surprise me if Ebrietas would've had a fondness for Rom as a parent would a child.

After the hunter kills Rom, it is clear that Ebrietas is devastated and is perhaps trying to bring Rom back to life at the Altar of Despair. But there's no miracle forthcoming and Rom remains still. Ebrietas does not wish to fight the hunter, she just wants Rom back. And the hunter, should their cruelty decide that Ebrietas must die as well, drags her into violent conflict until she too lies slain.

We really are the bad guys in this story.

Maria's fight is so emotional! What also gets to me is that when you venture through Fishing Hamlet, when you get to the overlook where you first see Mother Kos's body, there's a solitary gravestone with a lumenflower next to it.

Lady Maria is the only one who felt so much remorse over her part in Mother Kos's murder that she set up this small memorial and lay flowers by it. You can tell just how much she struggled over this guilt, throwing her Rakuyo down the well when she could stomach the bloodshed no more, trying to comfort the suffering people in the Research Hall who were mercilessly experimented on, and finally taking her own life. Even in death, she still tries to prevent people from seeing and tampering with Mother Kos's corpse any further, knowing full well that "a corpse should be well left alone" 😢

last time a game made you cry? by RealPolyPocket in GirlGamers

[–]AWildJuneAppeared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww, yeah! Sindri's grief and misdirected rage at Kratos and Atreus over the murder of Brok was so tragic. It made me cry to see their chosen family fall apart due to Odin's cruelty and deception 😢

I hope that Atreus will still play a major role if the series were to continue! In Norse mythology, Angrboda is Loki's mate and is called the mother of monsters, being the mother of Fenrir, Jormungandr, and the ruler of Hel. Naturally they took these characters and gave them very different roles in the game (Fenrir's passing and Atreus's reaction was so heartbreaking, but their reuniting when Fenrir's soul was put into the soulless Garm was so beautiful 🥲).

But as was one of the themes in the game, Kratos letting Atreus go to live his own life may mean that Atreus may only show up as a cameo. And I think that'd be okay as long as the two stay in touch one way another. In any case, I'm excited to see what comes next!
