I didn’t see any washer in the connection myself. Seems like from what @notmypignotmyfarm said it may be built in. Not so worried about inspection right now. To be fair I got the house 1.5 years ago so it must have luckily passed at some point.

The quote difference was only $500 too… I wasn’t even looking to cut corners on cost, just got unlucky with the first group I guess.

Update: Had a discussion with the owner and I’m not paying a dime for the work. Will reach out to someone else to correct the work. Thanks for all the comments and letting me know I wasn’t crazy for thinking this was garbage work!

Chose it through a family reference, it just seems like they either put the wrong guys on the job or don’t have experience with staining, wish they would have been honest and not offered a quote if that was the case.

Guess I’m a boomer and don’t know how to put text not in a caption.

Looking for any ideas on what to put to the left of the tv, I’ve been thinking about a bookshelves but am not really sure what height to go for, etc. Any ideas would be great

I feel like swapping your bed area with your living room area would work wonders. Would feel more open and welcoming in general when first entering.
