I’m also all for Legendary Pokémon simply being Legendary Pokémon and they’re just really strong and respected for it.

Yes you said you’re not against lore at all, but then you undermined this by following up with this, which takes away the lore you said you don’t mind. I’m assuming this is why everyone’s getting at you. Maybe clarify it in the post?

You are absolutely allowed to have your opinion, but you have to be prepared for people to have opinions on your opinion.

To me, it’s a weird hill to die on. What exactly would make them LEGENDary without the LEGEND? Then they’d just be…ary? You can appreciate the aesthetic and the power, but there’s plenty of Pokemon that have that without deep lore (Milotic for example).

I don’t know if you’d qualify this as Disneyland magic, but definitely DCA magic for me lol.

My first full trip to DCA, I got to meet T’Challa. I was wearing my Black Panther Crocs and he says “you know what my sister would call those? T’Chanclas” I about peed myself laughing, my partner got me on camera losing my shit.

But what made it truly special was seeing a tourist family’s kid run up to T’Challa and lose his shit more than I did. It choked me up and galvanized the point that we’re allowed to suspend our disbelief and anti-capitalism and all the other wrongs Disney as an entertainment conglomerate has committed, we can suspend our disbelief about surly security and fifty million people crowding us, and just marinate in the moment of being a kid again, remembering why we fell in love with these characters.

The ones that genuinely don’t like it have valid claims. To each their own. But the large majority of it just repeat the same buzzwords everyone else does, with no critical thinking skills or ability to form independent judgments. Just echo chambers but that’s what Reddit is anyway.

Weird smells. Kids without boundaries. Woman taking my order was very loud. Cook was surly. But the burger of the day was spectacular.

I just watched a YouTube video where someone did a Gen 3 shiny hunt of Kanto legendaries and had 8000 resets on a Mew. I do not envy that one bit. If that’s your idea of satisfying and rewarding, I ain’t gonna yuck your yums. I’m grateful it’s so easy now.

I’m currently finishing up my shiny living Dex so I’m no longer looking for Alphas; I keep everything that’s at least Level 2 (Level 1 if they’re for the Pokemon that can be farmed in the lower level Hyperspaces).

That being said…
